Read to me ~ Xingyun

Xingqiu POV:

"You want me to... Read to you?" He questioned, a little confused,

"Yeah, you know I usally read before bed, but my eyes are so tired and I don't know if I can read it myself.." I responded, the excuse wasn't a lie but it wasn't the whole truth either...

"Is that really the reason?" He asked, turning to face me,

"Well... that and... I like the sound of your voice... its soothing..." I tried not to make it sound weird but Chongyun started blushing and I got worried,

"You know what, don't worry about it, I'll just read to myself... haha.." I dismissed, forcing out a laugh,

"No no, your eyes are tired, I'll read to you!" Chongyun then took the book off of the bedside table before I could grab it and opened it to where I had placed the bookmark,

"What was this book called? Ah, 'young and hopelessly smitten' haha, sound like a romance novel, what's it about?" He asked, holding the book in his hands,

I couldn't help but find myself looking up at him as he laughed, he was just so... perfect..

"Xingqiu? Are you listening?"

I snapped out of my daze and sat up with him,

"Sorry, I zoned out a little, the book is about a young boy who has fallen in love for the first time, its quite interesting."

"It sounds interesting, anyway, lay down and relax, I'll read up to the next chapter for you." He smiled before pushing me to lay down, I pulled the duvet over my shoulder as I watch- I mean listened to him read,

I wasn't lying when I said his voice was soothing, Soon I began to feel as if all of the sadness in my mind was being removed, I seemed to have zoned out looking at him because before I knew it he closed the book and turned off the lamp,

"Was that good?" He asked,

"Oh- uh yes it was lovely." I smiled, in all honesty I had hardly heard a word he said, but it was lovely,

"Xingqiu, have you ever been in love?" Chongyun asked,

"Wha- that's a broad question!" I responded, trying to hide my blush with the duvet,

"I'm just curious, no need to get so flustered." He said with his usual flawless laugh,

"Well then the answer is no, I never really spoke to anyone other than you so I guess I never got the chance to fall in love.." I responded,

"Oh, well that's... really sad..."

"Have you?" I asked,

"Hm?"

"Been in love?"

"Yeah... I did fall in love once.. it was wayyy back though, back when I was 12 I think, there was this really pretty person who I sat next to in english and they seemed to really like me... and one day they told me they wanted to kiss me and.. well I said they could if they want and then after that they left and never spoke to me again..."

I lay there looking at Chongyun in shock,

"How could anyone ever do that?" I asked, dumbfounded,

"Some people are just like that I guess.."

"No seriously, how could anyone ever- I mean especially to you! You're perfect!! If I had the chance to kiss you I sure as he'll wouldn't give it up!!" I whisper yelled,

And then I realised what I had said.

"You... you wouldn't?" Chongyun whispered,

"I- well- I didnt-"
