The masters, as the monsters call them, are what we are trying to appease.

If they are not, our existence is unnecessary. We constantly fight for survival and the truth guides us.

Many ideas get scrapped. They aren't worth the master's time.

These ideas are put into the trash. A black void with a nearly endless abyss.

It does end.
That is the limit of how much we are allowed to fail.

Too much and none of this has a point anymore.

Smart-man was now part of the heap of garbage that was piling up in the void.
The trash.

Its said to be impossible to get anything back out of there, but just the thought alone of something being able to leave has power.

Especially when the narrator is convinced of it.

A true narrator has no opinions about the world it narrates about.

But this one, this narrator that walks among men, he will be able to change the tides of what we thought to be impossible, whether he likes it or not.

Basic-man has just finished repairing Serenity's castle entrance.

The boss monster ordered the headless monster to stay put and let the two men stay within her domain.

"Why are we letting them live, boss?"
The headless monster asked.

"There is a time and place for that. You should know."
The boss lectured.

The two men kneeled in front of the boss monster throne.

After having found an entity embodying elegance, basic-man basically switched sides, despite him reprimanding idiot-man and smart-man about that same thing when they haven't even switched sides at all.

A true hypocrite.

Generic-man was just going along with his cousin's whims. Just like him, generic-man was bored. He was happy he was needed by his cousin again.

He was just along for the ride, not thinking too much about anything.

"Glugug..." the sandwich said.

"What's this turkey-man doing here, your excellence-man?"
Basic-man asked.

"SHE IS NO MAN!"
The headless monster shouted.

"Stand down, fool. That's just their way of speaking. I had hoped you learned their accent at this point."
She said while shaking her head in disapproval.

It wasn't as if she was ignorant to the atrocities that the men have committed against their race, the monsters, but as she said, it wasn't time for that yet.

"This turkey means a great deal to the smart-man. If you don't want to incur his wrath, leave it in peace."
She explained.

"Yes..."
The cousins bowed their head.

"There is something I need you to do."
Serenity said, guided by the truth.

Meanwhile in the void.

Smart-man's skin stopped hurting.
It was as if time stood still.

He was just lying there on top of a heap of garbage.

He reached the bottom of the trash can.

Smart-man stared into the darkness above him.

It was then that smart-man was thinking of what to do.

"I can't just lie-man here forever-man.."
He told himself.

"Yes you can."
Someone said.

"... what"
The startled smart-man stood up, startled from having received a reply from some unknown entity.

He was not alone in this darkness.

"Who-man is there?"
He asked.

"Who-man? Is that how the men talk nowadays-man?"
The unknown entity replied.

Indeed, the way smart-man formed his sentence was a bit adventurous but it shouldn't have bothered most other people of the current age.

With each generation of men, men have become more excessive with the way the use the word "man" at the end of certain words.

In the distant past "who-man" was something no one would have said since it sounds like a different word. "Human".

The question "human is there?" Sounds kind of weird, doesn't it?

A figure rises from the trash beneath.

Somehow, even though this place was supposed to be pure darkness, smart-man could make out an outline of the figure in front of him.

There must be some kind of light source.

Maybe the light that came through from  the door he fell through is still being bounced around in the room, helping him to see.

"What's your name, kid-man"
The figure asked.

"Smart-man..."
He answered.

The figure laughed.
"Hahaha, so they found a replacement-man for me! Hahaha!"

The figure sat down in a cross legged sitting position.

"I'm intelligent-man."

Smart-man at first assumed that this person was claiming to be intelligent, but then he remembered Serenity's story.

"The hero-man of old-man.."
He muttered.

"Old? How much time passed since I exiled-man myself in here?"

Smart-man was confused but answered.
"It is the year 3871."

Intelligent-man was surprised to hear that.

"What!? ... no wonder-man..."
The figure got very close to smart-man. He got right up to his face.

"Hey-man. . what are you doing-man?"
Smart-man recoiled.

It was then that intelligent-man came to a conclusion.

"So it's you. You are my reincarnation-man."
The intelligent-man said.

"....... what?!"
Smart-man asked calmly.
