you came into school the next day looking tired. of course, only i noticed. you wear your mask well, i must say. the smiles you send to your friends and zoey are bright, but your eyes don't crinkle like they normally do when you're happy.
i passed by your locker after 4th period, and i glanced over to see your head buried past the locker door. my eyebrows furrowed, wondering why you were hiding in there. i walked away before you could lift your head, because i'm ignoring you now. trying to, at least.
maybe it's getting harder for you to wear that mask all the time.
