My breaths were quick. Rapid. Each one fogged the air with a dread I'd never felt before - a disabling fear that made my knees buckle.
After preparing yourself for commitment your whole life, it should be easy when it comes to applying it. That's what I used to think at least, until today.
A smooth melody sounded from behind the doors in my face. The bouquet rustled in my hand, hopefully the only red I'll be seeing today. But through the tightness of my bustier, my heavy veil and the emptiness of an unfamiliar hallway, I had one thought only - the man waiting to take my hand.
I tried hard to make myself think he was the prince charming every little girl dreamt of being swept away by. Regrettably a dumb little girl like me, who had no room for those dreams.
She didn't know that she'd be standing in this situtation. All she could think of was a white gown and roses. Happiness and love. The day she would be promised love till the end.
She didn't know, that the one awaiting her on the altar would be far from prince charming.
He was the devil himself.
