Mai turned her back to it and waited for something to happen.
Then she heard someone take a breath behind her.
She wasted no time before punching the face of whoever was took the breath and her fist collided with what felt like a face, then it hit the wall.

She pulled back and rubbed her knuckles, wondering if she had imagined the face like those other times her mind saw things that weren't there.
Yeah she should probably get that checked out.

"Nice reflexes!"
Someone enthusiastically yelled from the other side of the wall.
Mai heard footsteps and a door open down the hall.

'What the fuck is going on...'
She thought considering running before the odd person engaged her in conversation.

The door slammed and a tall blonde boy with a bloody nose turned the corner.
He didn't even look angry at all, just slightly impressed.
"That was cool! It's been awhile since someone actually landed a hit on me!"
He smiled and gave her a thumbs up.

"You're surprisingly enthusiastic about this."
She responded stoically.

"Yeah I guess that is a little weird!"
He laughed and touched his nose.
"Am I bleeding?"
He asked curiously looking at his blood covered fingers.

"Yeah..."
Mai said rubbing the back of her neck nervously.
This guy either way an optimist or a masochist
And Mai wasn't sure which was worse.

"Cool! Oh yeah! I'm Mirio Togata! What's your name?"
He said happily putting his bloody hand on his hip.

"Mai Rika?"
The girl said cautiously.

"Oh I've heard of you! You're the new girl in class 1a right? The one who didn't take an exam!"
She rolled her eyes.
'Even the upperclassmen know huh?'
"Yep."

"You must be really talented! You know I think I know someone who would be really interested in talking to you!"
He said smiling down at her.

She raised an eyebrow.
'Is he trying to set me up with someone?'
"Who?"

"The hero I'm doing my work study with! It's to late for you to intern with him now but maybe you can next semester!"
He said thinking about his mentor.

"Who is he again?"
Mai asked as though he had said so in the first place.

"Sir Nighteye, I'll be sure to put in a good word!"
He promised winking at the younger student.

She shrugged not concerned about the pro hero.
"Okay I guess."

"Hey! Wanna walk to Recovery Girls office with me to make sure my nose isn't broken?!"
He invited her casually as if he asked her to go to the store with him.

She thought about it.
"I don't really have anything else to do."
She answered honestly.

"Nice! Let's go!"
He said turning and confidently strutting down the hallway.

..........................

Back in class 1a Izuku Midoriya raised his hand.
"Where's Mai?"
He asked after nothing his friend's absence

Aizawa simply pinched the bridge of his nose.
"I don't know, but she's late and will be marked as so."

"Is she skipping class?! Without me?!"
Denki complained.
Flopping back in his seat.

There was a knock on the door.

"Come in."
Aizawa growled assuming it was Mai, coming to explain why she was late.

"Hey class 1A! And Mr Aizawa!"
A tall blonde boy with bandages on his nose yelled walking into the classroom.

"Mirio what are you doing here- oh Mai."
Aizawa started but stopped when he saw his student walking to her desk.
"What's going on? Why is Mai late?"

"Cus she punched me!"
Mirio said pointing at his nose and showing the class.

All the students turned to look at Mai in shock.

"Mai, is that true?"
Aizawa inquired

"He was being a creep and watching me though a wall, So yeah I punched him."
She explained while sitting down.

"Yeah! And she broke my nose on accident! It was pretty cool how fast she is!"
Mirio said smiling.

"Why is this dude happy about being punched in the face?"
Sero whisperer asked.
Mina leaned over and whispered in his ear
"he's a Masochist~"
Sero choked on air and covered his mouth failing to contain a mixture of laughter and coughing.

Aizawa sighed at the comments from his braindead students.

"Anyways she walked to Recovery Girls office with me to get my nose fixed! That's why she's late!"
Mirio finished explaining the story of why his new friend was late.

"Mirio, it's not appropriate to spy on students, especially strangers.
Mai you shouldn't punch random people."
Aizawa scolded the two.

"Okay."

"Yes sir!"
