Peeling my eyes open, I physically feel a sledgehammer hitting the inside of my skull. I groan rolling over burying my face in my soft plush pillow.

I move my legs beneath my silk sheets, I love my bed. I could truly live here and never get up. Wait.

My body flies up into a sitting position, getting partially blinded by the bright sunlight spilling into my room from my windows, I try clearing the fog in my brain to remember how the fuck I got home.

My vision finally adjusts to the natural light, I look over to my dresser seeing my leather jacket I was wearing last night neatly placed on top with my purse next to it. I pull my head down to my body, I'm still wearing my clothes, thank god I didn't fuck anyone. I flop back onto the cloud that is my bed, I guess Jax just took me home.

I hear a muffled buzz from beneath my pillow. I blindly slide my hand under until I feel my phone, I grab it yanking it out hearing the charger fall to the ground, he plugged in my phone that's sweet.

I click open my phone to see it's 12 in the afternoon, fuck me I needed to go to work today.

I really should quit already.

There's some text's from Drew and Jax, and then a missed call from Lilly's school. I furrow my eyebrows. "Hi." I croak out, clearing my throat I try again. "Hello, hi how are you?" I practice speaking trying to force away the extra rasp in my throat.

I click the missed call it automatically dialing. "Hello this is Somerset Academy."

"Hi, I'm Lilly Rayne's legal guardian, Lacy Rayne. I see that I missed a call from the school this morning. I just wanted to make sure everything was alright." I paint my voice in a polite manner.

"Oh yes, miss Rayne. Lilly never came to school..." Time slows down to almost a complete stop, my ears hearing nothing but my own heart beat.

"Miss Rayne? Is everything alright?"

"Oh yes, yes I'm sorry I completely blanked. Lilly woke up complaining her stomach was hurting so she'll be staying home today." I come up with the best lie I can.

"Oh okay, well hopefully she feels better over the weekend. And we'll arrange something for her missed school work. Have a good day, miss Rayne." The receptionists kind voice chimes out through the phone.
