4 weeks after the confession

“I now get why shotaro likes you.” renjun made sure to whip the stray whipped cream from the side of sungchan's cheek with his tumb. After, he wiped it on the paper towel beside his saucer.

He found himself invited by sungchan's father to ‘spend’ time with his youngest son. It was bullshit because he knew his old man and mr. Jung was doing this to ensure rhat both of them would be in good terms. Then again, since when where they in bad terms?

Sungchan stared at renjun boredly. They found themselves sent to the gazebo that was located in the middle of the maze garden his property had. Renjun was dressed in a white button down and slacks while he wore a full navy blue suit. He didn't get why he wore one when he was only ralking to renjun.

He flicked on the strawberry that came as a topping on his stacked waffles. “how are you and yangyang?”

How are he and yangyang? Renjun wanted to scoff. Yangyang, for the better part before, stopped singing outside his house at night. The younger was also started avoiding him. He won't keep this long and it hurt. It hurt that yangyang was avoiding him.

"Civil." Renjun replied, eyes downcasted on his cup of earl grey tea. "You and jaemin?"

"I haven't talked to him since a few weeks ago." Sungchan replied. It wasn't a lie. He tried visiting the cafe again but jaemin was no where in sight. He hoped the bunny was okay and wasn't cathing a cold. “you think me and jaemin would make a good couple?”

“chan, when I said the only way to get over someone is to find someone new, I meant someone you never met before. And please, don't make jaemin another rebound. He's already hurt with the first one.” renjun exasperated.

“I can tell.” sungchan snorted  crossing his arms over his chest. “enjoying the tea?”

“jaemin makes better ones.” renjun replied, picking up the cup and taking a quick sip. “the coco?”

“like you said, jaemin makes better.” sungchan chuckled. There was no point in being stiff with renjun. Whether he liked it or not, he was bound to be with the older. May it be in marriage or not, renjun will forever stay by his side. That was somewhat comforting. At least he has someone from the past in his present and future. “thank you renjun.”

“for what?” the older asked, confused.

“for being my friend.”

“Don't you have classes, jun?” sungchan turned to the older Chinese beside him. His mother insisted that they go for a quick walk around the property before they left. She said so that renjun would be familiar with the place, when in reality, sungchan knew she wanted to show of her newly installed fountain.
