Jaemin exhaled loudly, raising his head to look at the moon tree whose leaves were rustling because if the wind. He frowned at the sight. It shouldn't be rustling. There was no strong wind nor could strong winds outside could seep through the heavy glass above.

There was something wrong. He could feel it. The same dread he felt the night before  he pledge he would love jeno eternally. That dread was a twisting feeling in his gut, the constant ache behind his head, and the rapid beating of his heart. There was or there is something going to go terribly wrong.

❝she's not happy ❞ uncle bobo walked up to his nephew, hands clasped behind his back. His eyes were trained on the rustling leaves of the tree their family has longed took care of. ❝she never will❞

❝she never was❞ jaemin looked down, eyes focused on his reflection in the bucket full of water. He wasn't the type to accept dread but with the rustling tree and the strong winds, not to mention the dying and disappearing sunflowers, he had to. ❝I'm worried uncle. This is my fault. If it wasn't—❞

The man was quick to shut his nephew, revealing a sunflower from his back. He offered it to jaemin. ❝three years ago, I offered you a moonflower to make a wish on. Now, I offer you a sunflower to wish on. It is your choice what you will wish for but remember, the sunflower only grants a person's deepest wish❞

❝person's deepest wish❞ jaemin let his eyes focus on the yellow flower, frowning. It was true. While the moonflower granted a person's direct wish, the sunflower went beyond. Going past the exterior and hitting the core.

But... If he were to make a wish, what would it be? He himself does not know what his deepest wish or desire. He wasn't even sure if he had one. That's rubbish, everyone has something they really wish from the bottom of their heart.

He looked away, scoffing, ❝my heart is selfish, uncle. My heart won't wish for the happiness of my friends. Unless I wish on a moonflower, their future will not change. You and I saw it, uncle. You and I saw the downfall of the present and the future because of— me! ❞ jaemin placed a hand on his heart, clenching the fabric of his shirt. He looked at his uncle desperately, ❝because of my selfishness ❞

❝is it yours or both of you? ❞ his uncle asked, a teasing smile on his aged lips. ❝love does not start alone. Selfishness for love does not happen alone. And it wasn't your fault, Nana. You loved the same way your friends will love as well. ❞

Love? Jaemin wanted nothing to do with it. He learned from his past and would never repeat it for his present and future. ❝you say it isn't but if i didn't fall for him, none of this would end like that. Everyone would be happy❞

❝except you little bunny❞ that name sent a shiver down jaemin's spine. He remembered the masked man from the festival. The same man who made him forget about jeno through his unique humor and chivalry. ❝you wouldn't be happy ❞

❝but I will❞ jaemin quickly replied, ❝I will learn to be happy❞

Uncle bobo sighed at the pained smile his nephew was showing. There was no convincing the young Na. Just like his mother, he was stubborn. ❝an alternate future may happen and only will an alternate version of yourself will get to see it❞
