Her POV

I picked up the diary notebook of the class from Ms. Merce because she is our last teacher for the day, when Dana stood in front of me, already carrying her bag. and told me, "Let's go home, Mary!"

"Sorry, class duty, and this would take forever, so go ahead," I apologetically told her and sighed. "Damn that Bricks! I'm the only one who would write the entry for the whole class today because he is absent again." I angrily organized my things into my bag and only left my ballpen on the table.

"Don't let me see your face tomorrow, Bricks," I added.

Dana laughed and said, "You know him, right? He would tell us that he's going to school, but he won't on the next day." I just sighed. She tapped me on the back and added, "Good luck! I have to go, bye!" She winked at me as she left.

Okay, let's do this!

Today's virtue is love, and I just smilingly sighed. The class representative is really in love, huh? But in the concept of love, why not self-reliance or bravery? Well, not like I can do something about it. Whatever.

"Alright. Thank you, Ms. Montano. Be careful going home." Sr. Seno told me as I gave him the diary notebook at the teacher's office. I smiled at him and left to go to the office of my mom.

I am Mary Montano, and my nickname is obviously Mary. I am studying at a private school named Renaissance Academy, and I'm 15 years of age.

So let me explain what a diary notebook is, as some may be confused about it. It is called a diary notebook because it is filled with daily school entries composed of reminders for tomorrow or the days after, what you've learned for the day concerning the virtue, and it should be written in one to two-page of day notebook. Two students are assigned for class duty, and they are chosen through the alphabetical list of surnames. One girl and one boy to be equal. But that's not what this story is all about because the story started here at my mom's office.

My parents are government officers, and I am helping or, more like, working for my mom at her office. Organizing paperwork only costs a little, but it helps me buy data for the day.

When I entered the office, I greeted Ms. Ena, one of her colleagues, as a sign of respect. After that, I sat at the empty table beside her. As I'm looking for mom inside the office, I saw her with a guy.

Wow, he is handsome, and what I especially saw in him is his beautiful eyes.

I shrug it off because I'm not really interested, so I just waited for them to finish talking. After a few minutes, I noticed that they are done, so I went to my mom's table and asked for my phone. The academy is not allowing us to bring our phones, so I'm putting them in my mom's bag before going to school. Hence, I always go to her office after school because of work and my phone. Killing two birds with one stone right?

As I was about to go back to my table, Ms. Bes, another mom's officemate, sarcastically joke and asked me, "You're here again?"

"Yup, is there something wrong with that?" I informally responded to her with a smile, and we just laughed, including my mom. I went back to my table and looked at where the guy intern is.

I see, so he's the only intern for this quarter, as Mark is already done with his training.

While looking at him, I was surprised when Mom suddenly put all the paperwork on my table. "And where are you looking at?" Mom jokingly asked me. "No one and nothing," I smilingly responded and avoided her eyes. She just smirked at me and went back to her table.

Yup, I don't have time to waste because it's Monday. Thinking how many of these are and possibly many after these, I sarcastically smiled and sighed. Oh well, I need to work, and before that, I'll just put my earphones on and listen to some music to relax.

A few minutes later, I suddenly got curious about who the new intern is because I noticed that many girls, even from other divisions, are going back and forth in front of me. Their excuse is their division's comfort room was closed for cleaning. I just smiled and wonder what kind of charm this intern has. As I fixed my eyes on him, being handsome is the only charm I can think of since I don't know anything about him. Whatever, I need to finish this immediately for me to work on my homework.

As I was done with the paperwork, I took my mathematics textbook from my bag and began to work on it. Suddenly, a woman's flirtatious laugh coming from the new intern's table caught my attention. I looked at where he is, and it is one of Ms. Shen's friends. He waved goodbye to them, including Ms. Ena beside me.

Then the one with those eyes that I caught the interest of earlier smiled at me. As I realized that my eyes are still fixed on him, I embarrassingly smiled back at him. He left, and I felt embarrassed. I covered my face with both of my hands and sighed.

What the heck you're doing, Mary?

His POV

I left the office and went to the parking lot. Before I started the car, it got me thinking about who she is.

She seems like the daughter of Ms. An. Is she an OJT or a working student? Though she looks like a high school student for an intern. Anyway, I can see her from my table, and she was listening to music while working.

"I need to concentrate next time, though," I told myself and smiled when I remembered how my eyes were fixed on her when she was smiling earlier while working. "It's like she has her own world," I added.

When I remembered how her eyes were also fixed on me, and she later realized it, I laughed. "Weird, but cute," I also added and drove home.
