Ringing.
Something was ringing loudly in his ears, that's all that Jimin was able to register for the first few seconds right after he regained his conscious.
It was gradually fading away as more things started to register in his subdued mind.
Heavy.
Something was atop of him. It was obstructing his airway, making it hard for him to breathe properly. Not only that the air felt dusty itself. It was as if he was breathing through sand. It irritated his nasal pathway making him cough hard.
That lead him to partially elevate himself from his previously laying down position and the first thing he saw was the thing, that was weighing down his chest or rather the person.
The person was laying on his stomach across Jimin's own abdomen. His face was turned away from Jimin and his hands lay on Jimin's shoulder which fell off as he finally sat up. His back was pretty much covered in dust and some kind of liquid was flowing down the back of his head and staining Jimin's own shirt, which was pretty much covered in it by this point. It was hard to make out what exactly was he looking at given it was completely dark and the single source of light was a red light which kept running in circles, allowing to catch a glimpse of the stuff around him for one second and then completely leaving everything in the dark for the next second.
Still a bit disoriented, Jimin finally started to register the pain at the back of his head probably from falling over and rubbed over it to check if he was bleeding, which thankfully he was not, it was just a bump. He then picked the person up to lay him on his back. No sooner had the face of the person came in his field of view, everything clicked into place at once.
The gala.
Meeting with Taehyung.
Drinks.
Buffet.
Jimin leaving to fix himself a drink.
Taehyung running towards him.
The collision.
Falling down.
And then the boom right behind them.
Suddenly the haze clouding Jimin's mind cleared up and the empty space was now filled with dread as saw Taehyung's idle body laying before him.
He finally registered the panicked crowd that was running all over the place, mostly away from the point of explosion while he sat there next to the very still body of the doctor.
People were screaming bloody mary as they ran for their lives and crowded the entrance in order to get out of the potentially dangerous place. All elegance and eloquence, that was being showcased all throughout the evening was nowhere to be seen. Nobody cared about reasoning or calm in the face of probable death. Which was reasonable in itself.
But Jimin's point of concern wasn't escape at the moment but rather the one laying before him. He quickly grabbed the man in his arms and started patting his cheeks in a frantic and desperate attempt to get any kind of reaction of sorts.
"Doc? Doc! Hey Taehyung! Taehyung wake up!"
But it turned out to be all in vain as Taehyung remained yet perfectly still and silent in his arms, raising alarms in Jimin's already panicked mind. He recalled the liquid that was staining the back of the doctor's head and he prayed and hoped that it wasn't what he thought it was.
He tried to inspect the liquid by touching the back of Taehyung's head and getting some on his fingers but given the red light and their dark surroundings it was quite impossible to make it out just by looking at it. He then brought it close to his nose and immediately knew what it was. Blood.
