5 days. 5 days 2 hours and 26 minutes since you last talked with Dolores. but who's counting? you of course. she's been ignoring you since that awkward dinner. she would squeak when she saw you and rush the other directions. You decide to try to get some advice from Isabela, they are the closest any way. You Knock on Isabela's door and she opens it.

"oh (y/n) hey. " she says

"I'm sorry but may I speak with you. "

she nods and lets you in. you both sit down and you sigh and run a hand through your hair

"what is wrong with me?" you ask

"huh?" Isabela ask confused

"Dolores won't talk to me. did I offend her? should I beg for forgiveness? .. oh how could I say anything if she won't speak to me. " you say clearly upset

"you haven't done anything wrong... If you could talk to Dolores what would you say?" Isabela ask knowing she could hear.

"I would apologize for that night. I thought Antonio was just talking like a child. He really seems to like me... I was really touched when he said he wanted me as a brother. I.. Isabela I can't tell her how I feel... Antonio was right. I like her. But she's basically my best friend. I don't want to lose her because I think she's beautiful beyond belief, her smile makes my heart skip a beat and her voice it the most beautiful sound ever. I would do anything to save our friendship. If that means locking my feelings I would." you sigh and look at your hands

"I apologize but I can't. " you say and rush out.

You go outside to chat your breath. You can't keep your mind straight in this moment. you don't know dolores heard it from the waterfall and is making her way to you. Though at the same time someone else is also making their way on horse. Alma comes out since she saw you run out. Before any of you can speak you hear someone you didn't expect to hear

"Junior.." you look up and see your parents accompanied by guards.

"Father.. Mother. " you bow

Your father walks over and grabs you by your shirt.

"you dare disrespect your family and your country by running away! you will get your belongings and get your horse. you are to return with us home to get married. That is an order. " your father yells.

this gets the attention of the other Madrigals.

"yes sir. " you say looking down.

You know if you disagree your father might take it out on the town. he lets you go and goes to wait in the carriage.

"I apologize for my husbands attitude. Hijo.. do you need help. " your mother ask.

"no thank you. I got it. " you tell her.

"don't forget to put on your crown either... you know how your father will get. "

You sigh and nod. She didn't want you to marry either since she knew you have no feelings for Anastasia. the sky is getting dark with clouds as you pack your belongings. you change to your royal attire and get your horse. You give a guard your horse and walk to the Madrigals (minus Dolores who isn't there yet. )

"thank you so much for your hospitality." you say

"(y/n) don't leave. " Antonio says and start to cry.

You hug the child and it breaks your heart to have made Antonio cry.

"I'm sorry. don't forget to practice with your sword. maybe you can come rescue me one day. " you whisper to him.

it takes you and Felix to get the boy off you. It starts to rain. you sigh and head to the carriage.

"(y/n)..." you hear behind you.

You turn and look and see Dolores. You two stare at each other as you both get drenched.

"Prince (y/n) we must go" a guard tells you

"I'm sorry. " you say to Dolores

" 'Don't ever tell anybody anything. If you do, you start missing everybody.' " Dolores quotes one of the books you two have read together.

You smile small and a guard pulls you in the carriage. You slump in your seat and watch them in the window.

"I'll be back Dolores. promise. " you whisper knowing she'd hear you

you watch the Madrigals slowly disappear as you get further and further away.

you sigh and sit up straight not wanting him to get angry further. you know what he's capable of.

{3 days later}

you are back in your kingdom sadly. once you step out you grab your horse who huffs at the gaurd who had him.

"shh it's okay. let's go get you in your stable. " you tell him.

"stable then your room. " your father said

A guard escorts you to the stable then to your room. You sigh and throw yourself on your bed. You hear a knock and your mother walks in. she closes the door and sits with you.

"Mami.. I don't love Anastasia. " you tell her.

"I know son. come here. " she tells tou.

You lay your head on your mother's lap as she plays with your hair

"You know I'm a lot like you... the difference is I didn't run. I was to marry your father and that was it. we grew up together and boy was he in love with me. I was in love with a guard... but we couldn't be together. A princess must marry a soon to be king. I did as I was told. But I had relations with the guard before marriage. " your mother tells you

"wait... so my father is.. a guard?" you question

she nods her head.

"Mikael..You also have an older brother who lives with Mikael name Mario. You two use to play growing up. I hid that pregnancy. "

she shakes her head. she thought she would take that secret to the grave. that's a lot of information for you at once. you are your mother aren't doing different no wonder you both was so close. You have to tell her why you stayed with the madrigals.

"mom.. I like a girl. like genuinely like her. She's sweet, caring, loves to read and her voice is as smooth as honey. her hair is just so beautiful and curly. her big beautiful eyes i can get lost in for hours. " you smile thinking of Dolores

"so me and your actual father can make that happen. just give me a few days to get everything set up. " she tells you

You nod. you don't know what she would do but you trust her. Your mother and fathers two lands was combine to be ruled together.

"I'll act like i'm ready to listen to father. " you tell her

she nods and kisses your forehead. you get up and straighten your clothes and put your crown on. You will play the part you was handed but it's not what you want.
