Chapter 61: September 19th

Lucky's pov

Summer's come and gone in a heartbeat. The whole time we spent it either on the beach or expanding our business. It's now September to be more specific September 19th the day my soulmate was born.

I place kisses all over Athena's face and neck feeling her stir in her sleep. "Open those beautiful eyes for me Bambina" I coo in her ear rubbing her belly. "Lucky i'm tired" She groans trying to cover her face laying on her side.

I rub her back and she turns around curling to me pulling the blanket closer to her. She shivers trying to get more warm. "Baby are you cold?" She nods. I turn up the heat, shutting off the air conditioning. "Can you open those pretty eyes for me now" She smiles, opening them showing me the beautiful stormy grey eyes I fell in love with.

"Good morning Amore" I stay staring into her eyes as they light up, clearing out all clouds as if it's the end of hurricane season and the sun is out shining brightly. "Happy Birthday Bambina" She rolls her eyes while sitting up. "Ugh stop reminding me that i'm old" I laugh placing a small kiss on her lips she buries her head in the crook of my neck.

We stay like this for a while before she runs to the bathroom to pee. I put on a shirt going downstairs hearing a loud argument. It's most likely Leo, Santo and Adriano. Those three argue like little kids. When I go into the kitchen I'm proven right. The only difference is Enzo's arguing with them. "What the fuck are you guys arguing about?" I tell them they all look at me like little kids who just got caught red handed.

"Adriano burned 6 pancakes already, how do you manage to do that?" Enzo looks at him with the stupidest look. "It was by accident maybe if Santo wasn't sucking off Rory's face he could have seen it was burning"

"Hey leave me and my girl out of it you dick" Santo slaps him in the back of the head and the 4 of them start to argue more. I sit there watching them completely dumb founded by these idiots. The smell of smoke stops us all from seeing anything we turn to the stove watching whatever was on it shoot into flames.

Quickly we all throw water on turning off the stove and a huge black cloud of smoke fills up the kitchen. I open the windows trying to take it out. Leo and Santo are blowing the fire alarm while Enzo and Adri try to help take out the same.

"What the fuck is going on" Athena angrily says stoping at the door frame. Fucking great I did not need her to be stressed today. "I don't even want to know" She stops us from saying anything walking away from the kitchen. Adriano signals for me to go after her. I do just that.

I call her name but she keeps walking outside to get air. She stops looking at the small garden in the backyard. "Bambina" She doesn't turn around, she just crosses her arms looking at the flowers like it's the only thing in the world right now. "Athena baby what's wrong" I stand next to her seeing a few tears fall from her eyes.

"I don't know, I saw the smoke and freaked out. The memories of our parents dying came to my head like a loop that wouldn't stop. Ugh hormones" She sniffles, I pull her to my side, kissing her forehead "I'm sorry baby, we forgot the stove was on and we realized the smoke had already started but no one got hurt. I'm still here with you now angel wipe those tears and let me see that beautiful smile" I wipe her face she gives me a small smile

"I love you Lucky" She wraps her arms around my neck holding me as close as she can. "I Love you more Athena. Now I'm craving a milkshake. Do you want to go to the diner?" She nods, walking inside hand in hand with me.

Lucaino and Gabriele lay on Rory's side as they both watched TV. Damiano is sleeping on Mia who is in a conversation with Emma and Bianca. Leo, Santo, Adrino and Enzo walk in with their heads low not saying anything. "Sorry ma" Santo is the first to speak up and they all apologize after.
