We are all stories in the end. But no story lives unless someone is willing to listen. And though it was too late to listen to Haruto's story, he wasn't forgotten.

While hundreds of students occupied the classes of Treasure High, spending their day confined within their classrooms, studying a subject they probably didn't like, the ex-students of Treasure High, now older and wiser than they were once before, stood outside the gates, admiring the establishment they practically grew up in.

One by one, they gathered outside, waiting for their friends to arrive. "Yah, Junkyu! Jaehyuk-ah!" Park Jihoon called out, walking over to his friends before throwing his arms around them in greeting. "It's been so long since we've met. How have you been?"

"Just getting by another day." Yoon Jaehyuk smiled, greeting Park Jeongwoo, who joined them. "What have you been up to?"

"Well, I got a job," Kim Junkyu announced, getting confused looks from his friends. "Because apparently you can't make a career by being a loving husband." He got a smack on the back of his head by Choi Hyunsuk, laughing gleefully as he was glad to be back with his friends.

Kanemoto Yoshinori and Hamada Asahi arrived together, greeting their friends with hugs before briefly catching up with them. Takata Mashiho and So Junghwan came just as Bang Yedam got down from his car, rushing to join his friends.

"Sorry for being late. Wait, I'm not the last one?" He looked around, noticing two missing friends. "Where's Byul and Doyoung?"

"We are here!" Park Eunbyul yelled, jogging towards her friends before looking behind her. "His stupidity caused the delay, so if you have any curses, direct it at him. I'm just a mere victim who almost lost her kitchen." She pointed at Kim Doyoung, who followed, a slight smile on his face.

"Lost your kitchen?" Junghwan checked, laughing at the odd choice of words. "What did Doyoung do this time?" Hyunsuk asked, always amused by the little stories the couple had ever since they moved in together.

Eunbyul shuddered, getting goosebumps at the mere thought of it. "I was searching for an outfit, so I asked Doyoung to watch the bread that was toasting in a pan," she explained, turning to the male with a glare. "He kept watching it even after the pan caught on the fire and until I intervened."

"In my defence, I did exactly what you asked. I watched the bread."

"Murdering a successful international lawyer sounds very tempting right now."

The ex-students of Treasure High stood around the gingko tree; their hands placed in front of them respectfully as they paid their respects to their classmate.

"We are here," Jaehyuk spoke, staring at the little board of notes they had put together. "It's been five years, but it just seems like yesterday when we entered our class and saw you; the really good-looking and tall student who loved his friends just like he loved life."

A breathy laugh escaped Eunbyul's lips at his words, her tear-filled eyes contradicting with the bright smile she had on her face. Haruto; who loved his friends just like he loved life. She listened to the memories everyone exchanged of him, leaning against Doyoung as they did.

Kim Doyoung took a deep breath, intertwining their hands together as he rested his head atop hers. "There isn't a day where I don't regret my decisions. My teenager years were the absolute worse. I don't know how you guys handled me," he confessed. "Sometimes, I wonder why things turned out well for me; the guy who screwed everything up and ended for Haruto, who was a good friend to everyone."

"Even though things sucked at first, we all did whatever we could to make sure Haruto had the best high-school life. And I know he appreciated us for everything we did." Eunbyul patted Doyoung's hand, silently comforting him as she spoke. "Thank you for making the last few months of our school years memorable, friend. Let's be friends in our next lives too, yeah?" She quickly wiped away the tears that made down her face, biting her lip as she pinched her ear in an attempt to stop her tears.

The eleven friends looked over the spot under the gingko tree, wishing in their hearts to see their friend at least once for the last time. They gave their silent prayers, each of them handling the grief in their own way.

Watanabe Haruto, we love you, and we miss you. Forever and always.

"They must be in class," Junkyu whispered, bending low so he wouldn't be seen. "Should we?" He checked with the others, who crouched behind him.

"Let's take one quick look!" Jihoon urged, wanting to see their old classroom before they left. "Come on. Let's go."

Park Eunbyul crouched between Hyunsuk and Doyoung, holding back a smile at their childish antics. They hid behind the window outside their old classroom, quietly peering inside in fascination.

Absolutely nothing had changed. It looked just like it did when they were students five years ago.

The twelve young adults fixed their gaze on the empty spot at the back of the class, smiling to themselves as they remembered the person who sat there when they were still students. Just like a figment of their memories, they saw Watanabe Haruto in his school uniform; the sun shining brightly from behind him as he gave them the very smile they missed.

Even if the sky falls down, and even if the land that was fine is gone, we will never change; we are best friends. You are my friend, forever and always. Until we meet in our next life, Watanabe Haruto.
