"its the unexpected that changes our life"
I was sitting by the window gazing the stars looking for my dad as a small tear dropped from my eye, they say that our dead loved ones become stars but for me, my dad was always my star
when I was seven my mom left us for another man , when I was twelve my dad left me forever and now its only me and grandpa
I don't feel bad neither I Question my fate nor I cry over it, because whatever happens, happens for a reason which we don't understand thats what grandpa has taught me
but as a human and a daughter who lost her father and who's mother left her sometimes I feel sad , I am grateful that I have my grandpa who loves me as much as my dad did.
I check the time its 12:15 AM I wind up and kiss my grandpa goodnight shut the lights off and sleep , I have my final exam tomorrow for my final semester
The Next Morning
I woke up to the sound of my alarm ringing its 6 in the morning I make pancakes and coffee for breakfast and get ready and serve my grandpa
"Good morning Gramps" I say with a smile
"Good morning my little angel ready for exam today ?"
" yes "
"give your best" he pecks my face
I wear my shoes and begin to head out
" Don't forget your meds after breakfast pa"
" Don't worry Angel I won't forget"
Grandpa used to work as a baker in a bakery he used to bake delicious cakes, cookies and bread due to which he got diabetes but I try my best to look after his health .
I reached my university and my exam started by 8 and got over by 11
"ok class 5 mins left " the professor announced as I was reviewing my answers,
the bell rang and the professor collected the papers
"Results for final semester will be declared by 21st of this month online"
I really get exhausted after exams
I packed my stationery in and left the exam hall
"hey Elza"
I turned around to see Joe, he is my college friend we've been together since 2yrs of college and project partners he is very sweet
"hey Joe how are you?"
" I am good what about you? and how was the paper?'
" I am doing good and the paper was fine the last case study was a little twisted"
" Yeah I know right, anyways would you like to come for a cup of coffee with me?"
"umm later? I am really tired and gramps would be waiting for me .."
"Ok then take care how are you going?"
" I'll walk "
"you sure? call me when you reach home okay"
"okay"
He is really considerate and polite
I started walking and to my surprise the roads were silent usually this road was always busy, I felt weird but then I brushed it off
then I heard the sound of engine and I looked back to see a black car with black windows
I felt a lump in my throat
whos that are they following me? maybe I am thinking too much
The car kept its speed slow just to match my movement my fear was now turning real I started walking fast
the car's engine boosted and it increased its speed I began running my heartbeat fast my legs feeling heavy
I heard footsteps and then it all became blurry...............
