BELLA KNEW DUSTIN HAD BEEN HIDING SOMETHING. She knew it from the way he reacted the day earlier at school when Dart was mentioned. What she did not know was that Dustin had been lying about not knowing where Dart was and was now on a mission to find it again after it broke out of his house. Bella also didn't know that Dustin had found an ally in Steve Harrington, the older teen looking like he wanted to be anywhere but outside Bella's home.

"Let me see if I got this right," Bella said once Dustin finished his frantic rant, still inside the warmth of her house with a blanket wrapped around her shoulders and Bugs in the pocket of her cardigan as she looked at the two boys. It was already dark out and the cold air was seeping into the house. "You lied about keeping Dart even though you knew it was dangerous and now it's triple in size and ate Mews and escaped from your shed and you wanna lure it with meat?"

"Yep, that's it. Let's go now!"

"I loved Mews," Bella pouted, thinking of the cat that always stayed with her during sleepovers at Dustin's house. Mews loved to climb into the bed Bella was staying in and curl up at her side while they both slept. When Bella woke up, she was always covered in cat hair but she never cared.

"Yes, yes, so did I. There's more important things to care about right now, Bella!"

"What's Steve doing here?" Bella asked, pointing to the boy who was peering into the house through the open door. Bella knew that Brian was still home and didn't doubt that the sight of her uncle shirtless is what made Steve adjust his gaze to her with wide eyes.
