CHAPTER 20 - EPILOGUE

The door opened and my secretary came in. "Madam, nasa lobby na po ang mga bisita nyo." inform nito sakin.

"Good. Please guide them to the boardroom and tell them to wait for me." tugon ko habang hindi inaalis ang mata sa monitor ng tv.

"Noted, madam. Saka may kailangan din po kayong permahan na document. Liquidation report po galing sa accounting department."

Napatingin ako rito. "Let me see."

Lumapit ang secretary sakin at ibinigay ang isang folder. Binasa ko yun saglit bago pinermahan. Paglabas nito, muli kong ibinalik ang atensyon sa tv kung saan si Maggie ang nangunguna sa paghahatid ng balita.

I was smiling while staring at her beautiful face through the screen. Tungkol sa upcoming senatorial elections at agrarian reform ang kanyang binabalita.

I'm so proud of my wife, she really became the person she always dream of. She is now a successful journalist and one of the best young news broadcaster in the country. Nasa RIBC siya nag-trabaho at isa siya sa mga greatest assets ng kompanya. Her cheerful & professional way in delivering the news has made her known to the public. Mataas palagi ang ratings ng palabas kapag siya ang nasa tv.

Aside from that, she had won several awards in her career as well. Tulad nung nakaraang taon, she was awarded as the 'Best female newscaster' & 'Anchorwoman of the year' in the previous Philippine Journalism Awards. Bukod pa duon, nagkaroon din siya ng international recognition after niyang i-document at i-interview ang isang prime minister noon, she was praised for her excellent performance that it gained her more relevancy in the field of Journalism. Lahat ng ito ay na-witness ko at sobra akong proud sa kanya.

It's been 6 years already, at ang daming pangyayaring naganap sa nakalipas na mga taong 'to, isa na duon ang pagsasama namin bilang mag-asawa.

There's no perfect marriage at all. We fight, we argue and sometimes we don't like seeing each other's existence. Nangyayari lang 'to kapag may matinding selosan kaming nagaganap, which is normal lang naman. Hindi namin kinakausap ang isa't-isa at minsan pa nga ay hindi kami tabi kung matulog. But in the end, we learn to forgive & forget, and keep ourselves reminded that patience and understanding is the key to unlock the door of communication.

As for myself, i'm already the chairman of Estér Group of Companies. Naipasa na sa akin ang chairmanship ng kompanya pagkatapos mag-retire ni mama.

Although nakaka-stress at nakaka-sakit sa ulo, I remain calmed and inspired. Hindi lang dahil sa asawa ko, kundi pati na rin sa baby girl naming si Martynna.

Yes, you read it right. Four years ago, i underwent a procedure called Intrauterine insemination. Since hindi ako kayang buntisin ni Maggie, we decided to undergo this treatment which was a great success. I got pregnant for 9 months and normally gave birth to a healthy baby girl.

Martynna is now four years old, at kasalukuyan itong nasa tabi ko at naglalaro ng barbie dolls. Himala nga at behave ito ngayon dahil usually sa mga ganitong oras ay kung saan-saan na ito napaparoon. Kinailangan ko pang mag-hire ng dalawang yaya para lang bantayan ito dahil sa sobrang likot.
