Summary:

Within the thriving kingdom of Pars lies the Royal Capital of Ecbatana, a marvellous city ruled by the undefeated King Andragoras III (Sugou Takayuki). There also lies Arslan (Kobayashi Yuusuke), the 14-year-old prince of Pars who, despite his best attempts, doesn’t have what it takes to one day rule as king. When Arslan is sent into his first battle, he suffers a terrible defeat, and as war ravages on, the kingdom of Pars is burnt to the ground. After barely escaping with his life, Arlan meets with his loyal servant, Daryun (Hosoya Yoshimasa), and his other companions, including their tactician, Narsus (Namikawa Daisuke); Elam (Hanae Natsuki), his young servant bought out of slavery; Falangies (Sakamoto Maaya) a strong and defiant priestess; and Gieve (KENN), a self-identified musician and rogue-of-all-trades. Together, Arslan and his loyal followers must gather an army to defeat 300,000 soldiers and free his kingdom from the rule of the torturous Silvermask (Kaji Yuki).

Own opinion:

Okay, so after seeing this show I now beleive that this season is really the season of nostalgia. Just by me seeing the art of this I can't stop but remember the fullmetal alchemist feels. So I did a little bit of researching and did you know what i've found? I found out that it has the same creator of Fullmetal Alchemist so I was really excited with the show. My expectations are pretty high for this one, even if there are some complaints from fans of the novels. There are bound to be differences from the original source material – especially since they are adapting the manga adaptation and not the novels – but I have every faith in Arakawa’s talent. Arslan Senki will certainly appeal to fans of fantasy and historical action, as well as those who miss Arakawa’s most beloved Fullmetal Alchemist.
