The lost soldier (re-write)

The first mission

YN is working in his basement on a force field generator. Ruby comes down bringing YN's coffee.

Ruby: Here's your coffee. What are you working on?

YN: A force field capable of enveloping the whole house. It would be the ultimate device in home defense.

Ruby: Why are you working on it?

YN: Some top-secret mission from Ozpin and I don't want you girls my personal property destroyed if it goes south.

Ruby: What mission?

YN: Ask Ozpin, he'll tell you providing that you ask for the job.

Ruby then leaves the room. Suddenly, a loud bang is heard and she runs back into the room.

The generator that YN was working on had exploded and YN was thrown across the room and is currently smoldering.

Ruby: What happened?! YN, are you ok? (Grabs fire extinguisher and puts YN out)

YN: I, I think I broke something.

Ruby: What, do you need me to get a doctor?

YN: I broke my generator.

YN then stumbles over to his workstation and then downs half a bottle of aspirin.

YN: Ruby, please get Glynda, I'm not feeling too well.

Ruby then runs off and goes to Glynda.

Ruby: Ms Goodwitch, YN's project exploded and he caught fire, can you please help.

Glynda: Alright, let's go help our hapless landlord.

They then go downstairs and find YN lying on the floor with a note, which Glynda then proceeds to read

Glynda: "don't worry, this has happened before, just please put me in my bed and tuck me in, I'll be fine in a few hours."

Ruby: Do you think he's ok?

Glynda: Judging from the light snoring, probably.

The two of them then put YN to bed and Ruby leaves some milk and cookies on his bedside table.

Time skip about half a week.

YN has finished the generator and YN and team RWBY are sitting in Ozpin's office.

Ozpin: So again, your mission is to clear out a White Fang training facility that is in the red forest near Beacon. They pose an immediate threat to the students and the university.

YN: R.O.E?

Ozpin: As the person with the most experience in combat actions, that decision is left up to you.

Ruby: What is roe?

Yang: A roe is a type of deer.

Weiss: While yes, YN is referring to the R,O,E Rules of Engagement, they determine what methods and tactics are deemed acceptable in a battle.

Ruby: Oh.

The meeting continues for a few more minutes and then team RWBY and YN are on the way to the white fang training facility in the forest.

Ruby: So what is the task again?

YN: Get in, destroy everything, get out. Oh, that reminds me (hands out gas masks) wear these when the fighting starts.

Yang: Why?

YN: I will be using poison gas grenades to clear them out, and I have grown rather fond of you girls so it would be a genuine shame if you choked to death.

Everybody: Thanks...

Ruby: Anyway do you think that this will be difficult?

Weiss: Probably not, it's just a small training camp.

They get over the hill, and it is not just a small training camp. There are over five hundred Faunus in the base.

(I use Faunus as both singular and plural)

YN: Oh that's it, we'll be home in time for the football. (English not American)

Weiss: How can you be so calm about this?

YN: (pulls out pistol and sword and charges down the hill)
HUZZAH! FOR DEATH AND HONOR!

Blake: Did he just?

RWY: Yeah, let's go after him before he gets himself killed. (The three of them then start running after him)

At a guard house.

White fang guard: Hey do you hear something?

White fang guard 2: Yeah it sounds like shouting, and it's getting louder.

They go outside for a better look.

White fang guard: What the hell?

YN shoots them and charges into the building. He then sets up his machine pistol so that it overlooks the camp and then he opens fire.

White fang officer: Raise the alarm! We're under attack!

A detachment of white fang soldiers try to rush the building, but they are blown up by a hand grenade.

YN: Ten for one!

The white fang troops try to organize but they are hit with a burst of gunfire, and most of them flee into the bunker.

Ruby: How are we going to get them out?

YN: (shows a grenade marked with a skull and crossbones) with this, put your masks on. (Hurls the grenade into the entrance)

Weiss: What was that?

YN: A slow acting poison gas grenade, they'll either leave the bunker, or they will choke to death.

White Fang soldiers: Don't shoot, we surrender.
We give up.

About thirty white fang soldiers leave their bunker, and they are taken, prisoner. YN ties them up, and he then inspects the camp. He finds a few books and a lot of documents and several thousand Lien. He then went into the commandant's cabin, and he found an officer's sword and a few bottles of wine and some other interesting objects. And all of those things go into YN's rucksack. Some other things like uniforms and masks are also looted as souvenirs.

Ruby: Why are you looting the place?

YN: I never go back from a mission empty-handed. My feelings on it go back to when I first joined up. Any way that I can supplement my income is good. With this, it is just the collection of souvenirs.

Blake: Why are you looting, you're rich. You have more money than one could spend in their entire life.

YN: It's a force of habit. Also it's always nice to take a souvenir. (pulls out several hand grenades marked with a little flame) Throw one of these into each building.

Yang: What are these?

YN: Incindeary grenades, they'll set fire to the camp. We don't want these bastards coming back.

Weiss: Agreed.

Blake just looks at YN and Weiss with disappointment and a bit of disgust.

YN then goes over to one building and a white flag pops out

YN: Come out with your hands up.

YN then marches them at gunpoint to the nearest police station. YN then hands the POWs to the authorities, and he then went home to enjoy a glass of (favorite drink), (favorite cookie) and read his favorite book. Suddenly Ruby gets on the couch and curls up next to YN.

YN: Hey Ruby, how are you doing?

Ruby: I'm feeling a bit down.

YN: Why, is there something I can do to help?

Ruby: The local bakery sold out of cookies and I really want a chocolate chip cookie now.

YN: Well let's go bake some then.

Ruby's eyes light up and they both go to the kitchen and bake several dozen cookies. Unsurprisingly they last all of three hours before Ruby eats them.
