Should I (we) stay or should I (we) go?

Start from the beginning

"I'm not your f*****g boyfriend!" he hisses at Raven, as if Rav had just messed us up again, he realises a second later what his just said. Oh no.

"BOYFRIEND?" Kayli screams (screeches) at Raven, who hardly blinks, even when she grabs his arm and digs her nails in, "You told me you broke up with him!", she gives him another 'pout', again totally unattractive, Raven glances at me then pry's her hand off his arm without saying a word. I can see tiny red dots of blood welling up where her nails have dug through his skin. Since when did she have claws?

His hand lands on my shoulder squeezing, gently (for him), for someone who is normally terrible at reading any situation, he seems to know exactly what to do, reassuring me easily, choosing me, without a shadow of a doubt. It makes my heart warm.

Kayli, however, starts to turn an unattractive shade of red, I turn away to hide my smile. But Rav's tact has gone, he smiles almost laughing.

"Red not good colour." He states simply, without looking at Kayli. She goes practically purple. Axel rushing to comfort her, Owen a beat later. Kota offers voiced reassurance, as he phones Nathen, yet again. "Purple worse!" I think Marc snorts with laughter, but he covers it up with a coughing fit a moment later. My eyes are fixed very determinedly on the screen that's flashing past (a misdirection program Sang made)

"Where have you been?" he snaps, oh the red head is going to answer now is he? A couple of murmurs are all I can pick up from Nathen's end, then Kota has a moment of shocked science "Your mother?" he sounds confused, no longer anger, just shocked.

Victors head snaps straight up, he lunges for the phone, pushing Kota to one side as he grabs for the phone. Ummm? Ok?

"Is she the lady at the park?" he glances at us all, we are all staring at him in shock, he moves and leaving the room in a moment. An almost invisible message alert pops up on screen, Sang. The only person behind me is Raven, he sees it, a second late he shifts to cover most of the room, allowing me to open her personally designed chat program.

S: Victor talking to Nathen, he just found out where his mum went, he might be slightly shell shocked when he comes back.

C: Ok... Her symbol appears, telling me she's typing again.

S: Be careful. She's still typing but nothing else comes up.

C: Sis, you have something else to say, don't you? I can't help but ask, we are kind of on a tight time scale right now, Raven glances over his shoulder, checking that no one is coming over. Kayli is being really useful, having a 'breakdown' in the corner, even I can tell that it's fake, but if it keeps Axel and B from looking over my shoulder for longer, then go right ahead Kayli. The thought makes me want to smile and I have to bite my lip to stop it.

S: One, you're laughing at, I assume, a Kayli 'panic attack' special she knows me far too well for someone who I met fully less than year ago. Raven snorts, Kota's eyes flicker towards up from where he seems to be debating whether to go to Kayli, or work out what Victor's talking to Nathen about.

She continues her message, though this part comes up slower. Two, if you need an out. Kayli stops crying and Axel starts to move over towards us, my mouse moves to the shutdown function for the chat. You know where to find me!

I just manage to catch the phase as the screen changes back to random list of complicated code, with a quick scan I can't help my smile, it's another of Sang's programs. This one is literally just a load of fake code, making you look busy without really being busy. It also has the added bonus of confusing most of my team, and making them leave me alone, because unless you are as good as at least Victor at code I could be hacking anything.
