Just Get Lost. I'm Going Home.

When I heard that I had a chance I quickly bursted into a smile. "You mean he's alright if I don't date him?!"

 Benny grinned "Of course. But he might be pretty upset but he'll still be friends with you. Plus there's so many other girls out there." 

Benny removed his hands from my shoulders and took a couple steps back leaving me some room to breathe.

"Okay." I whispered with a smile. Benny and I had been walking and goofing around for a  while when we finally made it to the back of Vincent's Drug Store.

 "Hey y/n!" Smalls shouted with happiness making all the other boys look up noticing Benny and I had arrived. 

"Hey guys!" I smiled happy to see them again. Benny walked away from me whispering into Yeah-yeahs ear before sitting with the rest of the group. Yeah-yeah walked over to me with a sad face. 

"Hey look, I'm sorry I did that. It was really wrong of me and I should've known better. If you don't want to date me that's okay".

I smiled and gave him a long hug. I removed from the hug and my face slowly saddened. "I- I really only see you as a friend Yeah-yeah. And to be honest I only ever saw you as a friend. The truth is, I never wanted to date you from the beginning. I felt bad and didn't wanna hurt your feelings, I guess some people just won't work out no matter how hard they try."

I knew what I said probably hurt, but it was the only way I could express my feelings. I gave Yeah-yeah a hug before reuniting with the rest of the group.

"Hey y/n." Timmy said dabbing me up. "Hey Tims." I than walked over to the rest of them with Timmy following closely behind. 

"Aye Y/ns here!" Squints yelled dabbing me up. I gave the others high fives and I asked curiously "what were you all talking about?" 

Bertram looked at the others and responded "We were talking about the new school year." I nodded "What about it?" 

The others all looked at each other when Squints finally spoke up. "Uhh... Are you stupid? School starts in a week." My mouth dropped "In a week? Time went by so fast." 

Timmy nodded followed by Tommy. "You guys ready to go play ball?" Benny asked dusting himself off. We all nodded and the boys followed Benny and I around the side and out to the front of the store.

 "Hey Y/n!" I heard someone yell, I looked to see DeNunez running over from across the street. "Hey DeNunez!" 

We hugged and walked with the rest of the boys over to the sandlot. When we got there we set our water bottles down and headed out to the field. "Squints wanna start?" Ham yelled out. "Duh!" 

After 3 hours we were all worn out and decided we'd all go to the movie theaters. The entire day Yeah-yeah and I had been avoiding each other. Maybe, what I said was to harsh. 

I wonder when this will get better. Suddenly I felt someone bump into me waking me from my thoughts. 

I turned and giggled. I nudged Ham back, "What's wrong with you? Your so quiet." He smirked, "I'm quiet?" He chuckled and patted my back.

 "Don't talk about it then, but if you ever need anyone to talk too besides mister lover boy you know where I am." 

I laughed, "Lover boy?" Ham pointed over to Benny and whispered, "I think he likes you." I blushed a bit in awkwardness, atleast I think that's why.

 I furrowed my eyebrows "what makes you think he likes me?" Ham chuckled and looked at me "You serious? He's all over you. I've been his friend for 8 years, I think I know if my friend has a crush on someone." I laughed it off thinking Ham was just trying to be The Great, Charming Cupid.
