"I need to ask you something, think about it really good." Benny said in a serious tone.
I was so confused. Was it something bad? I had no idea if it was something good or terrible.
"What is it?" I asked nervously to the answer.
"Have we met before? Like before I helped you from Phillips?" He asked letting go of my arm.
"I don't think so.. Why?" I asked relaxed now that I knew what the question had been.
"I don't know, your eyes look really familiar.." he said staring at my eye's.
I turned my head the other way to break the gaze. "I guess I have common eye's?" I said looking back at him.
We both started laughing, I just met this dude. Yet I feel as if we've been friends in a complete different universe. We walked while laughing and making jokes along the way.
"You know, your a pretty cool girl." Benny said breaking into the laughter.
"I know~" I said giggling. I looked at him, he was starring at his feet. During this moment I completely forgot about all my friends in Texas. I don't feel homesick, it's like I've been here my entire life. I noticed Benny was starring at me with a smile.
I returned it. "What are you thinking about?" he asked with the moon light beaming at his eye's.
I looked around at the houses, "I guess, I'm just thinking about how happy I am right now. Like I don't feel homesick, like I have no worries." I said looking back at Benny he was starring at me.
"I can tell this summer is going to be good." Benny said stopping. "we're here." he said pointing at my house in front of us. "Where do you live?" I asked hoping he didn't live too far.
He pointed to a house across the street. "There." He said with a smile, "Lucky for us, we don't have to go much far to reach each others houses." He said smiling. I smiled wider, "awesome!"
"see ya tomorrow?" Benny asked right before I opened the door. I glanced back at him with a smile, "yeah, you will." I said before opening the door shutting it behind me.
I went inside and ran to the living room window. I opened the curtain to watch as my new friend ran inside his house. I closed the curtains and plopped on the couch. I looked at the ceiling, I can't believe I made friends today. I looked around and took a big whiff of the smell of boxes. Along with the smell of boxes I smelt food, yum, I thought. I got up quickly and went to the kitchen to see my mom pouring green soup into two bowls.
At that moment I felt my stomach grumble. My mom must've heard it too because she looked up at me smiling, "hungry?". I ran over to grab my bowl, "Oh, yes please!" I said grabbing the bowl placing it on the table.
-Conversation at the dinner table-
"So.. How was playing with those boys?" She asked looking up at me. I looked up and smiled gulping down the Soup quickly. "It was so fun! At first I had to show them my skills cause they thought I couldn't play because I was a girl, except Benny." I said before taking another spoon full of the Soup.
"OoOo..Who's Benny?" asked my mom wiggling her eyebrows at me. "Oh my gosh mom! I don't like him like that!" I said laughing. I took another big spoon full of soup when she said something.
"That sentence only lasts for so long." she said smirking at me. I just shook my head taking another bite of the soup.
After helping clear off the table I took the trash bag and walked outside. The trash bag was heavier than usual since it was full of all sorts of tape, medal, and other things. I walked out shutting the door behind me, I walked down the steps and over to the street which had our trashcans. As soon as I opened my trashcan I heard another shut, I followed the sound with my head and noticed it was coming from across the street. "Benny!" I yelled.
