I didn't tell Evelyn, but while she was in the shower, my "friend" Arnie, who I know is really just in town to keep an eye on me, dropped off a suit and tie for me. I'd made us dinner reservations at Rafn's, which was a prestigious restaurant in Salem according to Arnie. Our reservations were at 6:30, so we had some time. I looked over at Evelyn who was walking out the door with cookies for her neighbor. I could see myself with her. She was quite possibly the finest person I've ever met. A few minutes later, she returned. "Do you want to watch a movie?" Evelyn suggested. I agreed, and we both sat down on the couch. I sat in the corner of the couch, and she set a small distance away from me in the middle. Her cat decided to sit up by my shoulders, so I was pleased. We settled on a movie called "Jaws'' which I'd never seen before. Evelyn was so surprised when I informed her of the news. 30 minutes into the movie, Evelyn had fallen asleep. She had turned her whole body sideways and put her head in my lap. God, she was so pretty while she was sleeping. I started to drift off to sleep as well.
