(Waima POV)

I was in hospital for a few more days and today is my last day incarcerated. Dramatic you may think, but man I can't wait to get out of here. The help of healing witches and the doctors and nurses, made my recovery quicker

It was funny having Chi-Chi with me the whole time

A nurse would walk in, see Chi-Chi, and then walk out, knock, and walk back in a lot slower

Chi-Chi is very protective of me, and her lion head would growl if she felt I was in pain or a little uncomfortable

My hands are scarred though. When the bandages came off, you could still see where the main burns were concentrated. They were a little stiff and still quite tender. I'm amazed they scarred so quickly though. I guess with the use of magic, anything was possible. The doctors assured me that when I shift, my hands will go back to normal

I don't regret my decision though. I'd burn my hands to the bone again if it meant saving people

My sister keeps telling me I gotta stop putting other people's well being ahead of my own. When I asked her if she would've done the same thing as I did, she groaned and nodded before punching me in the arm because I laughed

My sister has been amazing throughout

Everyday she visited me and stayed for hours by my bedside. Mum and Dad were also there sometimes, but Tui and I always had a closer bond, so it felt more special

She told me what Sarah did in her house for her and I couldn't stop smiling. Who knew sitting next to a stranger in science class would lead my sister to true love and happiness

Sarah made my sister so happy, it was evident of the permanent smile Tui would always wear when her mate was around. It was great that Tui was so happy. Someone was putting her first like she deserved

Now Jay-Jay and Tui are in my hospital room and Jay-Jay is having a panic attack "I'm so scared Waima" He whines "What if they don't like me? What if I screw up and they end up hating me? What if they think I'm not good enough?" Jeffery invited Jay-Jay to his parents weekly gathering "Oh God!" He groans and slumps in his chair "What if they make him reject me? I'm dead. I'm going to die" Jay-Jay agreed to go but is now regretting saying yes "My life is over"

Tui rolls her eyes as I chuckle "Who said any of that would happen?" Tui asked for the hundredth time since our brothers rant "You're basing it on a whole 'What ifs' Jay-Jay. You don't know these people, they sound pretty nice to me"

"People are always nice until you meet them" Our brother points out

"They sound like stand up people to me" I shrug "I mean, they help so many in need"

"The mob help people as well" He says dryly "And they're the mob"

"Okay" I laugh "What did he say about his family?"

"His father is a business man, not a typical one though. He goes to work at 9am and comes home at 6pm every day, weekends off. He has a motto that 'Family comes first' When he's home, he's home, no company talk unless it's very important and he has to discuss it with the family. His Dad owns several high-end shoe stores throughout the world. Jeffery said that shoes was his Dads obsession, and his mate convinced him to turn it into a business. He's a stay at home Dad though, only travels for work maybe twice a year. They're both very family orientated, and if one of their kids needed them, they'd drop everything to be there"
