Panic! At The Skate Park // Karl Jacobs

take a wild guess who I was listening to when I got the urge to write this

Cal's POV

honk honk

I hear the unmistakable sound of Karl Jacobs' car horn as he pulls up outside my house 

"COMING" I yell as a grab a plastic bag from my kitchen table and rush out the front door 

I wave at him as I approach his car and jump in the passenger seat 

"hi cal!" he flashes his signature smile at me 

"hi Karl!" I match his energy and we exchange a huge 

"you got the boards?" I ask 

"yep!" he motions to the seat behind him where our skateboards currently sat "you got the monsters?" 

"do I ever not?" I hold up the plastic bag 

he just laughs lightly in response before putting his car in gear and preparing to pull out of my driveway (AN: if I see ONE comment making this dirty I stg-)

he puts his arm around my seat and turns to look out his back window to make sure he didn't hit anyone or anything 

"shit thats hot"  I think to myself  "wait cal no stop it"  

"hey cal you good?" I'm snapped out of my trance by Karl shaking my leg 

"y-yeah I'm good" I smile "just zoned out a bit I guess" 

"oh ok" he shrugs "anyway I had to make a stop for gas and I wanted to know if you needed anything?" 

"oh I could do with a few things yeah just let me get my purse" I pull the purse out of my jacket pocket before jumping out of the car and making a beeline for the store while Karl fills up his tank 

the signature smell of sugary slushies and savoury pizza hits my nose as soon as I open the door,  the action seemingly spooking the teenage cashier sitting on her phone at the counter 

"sorry I didnt meant to scare you" I smile at her 

"no no don't worry about it I just wasn't expecting anyone in this late" she brushes me off 

"if you say so!" I joke lightly before continuing my shopping 

I ended up grabbing two jumbo bags of candy 

jolly ranchers for me and sour patch kids for Karl because they're his favourite 

I make small talk with the cashier as she scans my items and while she's packing them into a bag for me I turn my attention to the slices of pizza to the right of her 

"hey could I get one of those pizza slices too please?" I point to the display 

"sure!" she smiles before grabbing a triangle shaped box from under the counter and placing a slice of pizza inside it 

"that'll be $6.50 for everything please" she pushes the bag towards me and I insert my card into the scanner and punch in the numbers 

as I'm about to pick up the bag and make my way back to Karl he enters the store and makes his way over to the counter to pay for his gas 

"I'll wait for you in the car" I whisper to Karl as he pays and he just nods in response 

once I'm sat in the car I tuck in to my slice of pizza, my senses overwhelmed by the smell of cheap pepperoni and the taste of rubbery cheese 

despite that I quickly finish the pizza and stuff the box into the plastic bag she gave me after hiding the candy in the bag with the monsters 

"thank you! have a nice night!" she waves goodbye to Karl as he pushes open the door and walks back towards the car
