Ricky was sitting at his room,bored out of his mind,trying to concentrate on his homework but to no avail,as his thoughts were swarmed with Nini.He tossed aside his pen and closed his book thinking he wasn't going to get any work done.He looked at his nightstand seeing it was almost 9 in the night and wondered when Nini was going to be home.He was really looking forward to hang out with her today,before he found out her plans,a sigh leaving his lips at the reminder.It wasn't just him not wanting her to be with Aiden,it was mostly the fact that he really wanted her to prove he was honest this time.He was lucky enough she gave him another chance,so he planned to cherish every moment he had with her.That's why he stood up and decided to go by her house earlier so he could wait for her,catch up with her moms for a bit as well since he hadn't seen them for a while.It wasn't something new to say the least.Growing up together as next door neighbours had made them very comfortable with each other and their families.He could even suggest them having a sleepover like when they were kids,so he could finally have the chance to talk about everything that happened so things could go back to normal.That's all he wanted,everything back to normal,before Allison or anyone else appeared,when it was just the two of them against everyone.So he went down the stairs and let his dad know he was going over.
''Going over to Nini's!''he yelled.
''Okay,let me know if you stay over.''he answered back.
He closed the door behind him and started walking before halting to a stop as she saw Nini getting out of Aiden's car.He supposed he was going to drive off,but he got out as well,held her close by the waist and they stood together outside of her house.He stood still there as he saw them talk animatedly,the sweet sound of her laugh echoing.His eyes followed Aiden's hand as he brushed some hair off Nini's face and softly cupped her cheek.No no no no.
He stood there frozen as he saw the boy leaning in and kissing her.Her.Kissing Nini.
He felt his breath hitch and his heart breaking at the same time.It was suddenly like a veil was lifted as he saw the pair.
Suddenly everything was clear.His feelings at prom,how the thought of losing Nini hurt more than anytime he even broke up with Allison,how Nini's smile could light up his whole day,how he could hear her laugh for hours and not get bored.And lastly it explained his behaviour towards Aiden ,because there was absolutely nothing wrong with him.The only thing wrong was that he was the one holding and kissing Nini,the girl who was under his nose all this time and was everything he ever wanted.He just saw her worth sooner that he did.And the worst part? As he finally realised he was unknowingly falling for her all this time,she was starting to fall for somebody else.
