1| A morning at the grey-shepherd house

( Dereks POV )

I woke up at around 6 am mer was still sleeping, I thought about waking her but she always looked so peaceful so I decided to let her sleep in.

I gave her a small lingering kiss on the forehead, the covers that were covering breasts was slipping so I pulled them up to her chest so if Zola or Bailey came in they wouldn't see anything.

I went into the bathroom and turned the shower on and waited a bit for it to get hot until I stepped in, I washed my entire body then my hair and once I finished I got out of the shower and wrapped a white towel around my waist then brushed my teeth

I rinsed my mouth then went back into mine and mers room she was still asleep cuddled up into the blanket and sheets, she always looked so small while sleeping she was like a little baby, even tho she just had a baby a month ago she had somehow already  managed to loose all the weight what so ever, but she has always been thin, and very petite in a way, and our daughter had taken after her mother, she had beautiful dirty blond hair and light blue eyes, she got the blue from me and the lightness from mer.

I went to my dresser and pulled a white button up shirt and some black dress pants and some black dress shoes and went to wake the kids up

I went into Zola's room and kissed her forehead and whispered her name a few times until she woke

"Zola, it's time to make up sweetie get dressed please" I said and went to go wake Bailey

I went into baileys room and he was already kinda awake, his eye were open but he was still laying in bed staring at the wall

I walked over to him and pulled the covers down a little to where the blanket was covering his entire body except his head and shivering, he slept a lot like his mother, when I pulled the covers down I saw the he wasn't wearing his shirt then I looked and saw it on the floor

"Were you hot last night or why did you take you're shirt off?" I asked him he didn't answer and just nodded his head yes

I pulled the covers down all the way and he was sweating and his body was very warm then I put the back of my hand on his forehead and felt his head that was burning up I picked him up where he was only wearing his shorts and he wrapped his legs around my waist and his head in the crook of my neck I held my hands on his back and his back was also burning

Then I saw that mer was up she was wearing a tight black dress that went a little over her knees with a gold belt ( the outfit she wearing in the photo) with her hair in a ponytail with no makeup and long black gloves that she wore a lot but I never knew why, she looked gorgeous

"What wrong with him?" She asked with a worried look, Bailey always had been a mamas boy

"I think he's sick, he's burning up" I said and handed him to mer

"Is my sweet boy sick?" She said softly in his ear and he just nodded his head

"His back is really warm, did you take his shirt off or did he do it himself?" She asked

"He wasn't wearing it when I came into his room, he was already wake but he wasn't moving and he was completely under the covers and shivering" I said and walked over and kissed his head then mer on the lips

She whispered something in his ear and kissed his head and started walking into the kitchen and gave his some medicine which he didn't like and started crying

"I know, I know, but the medicine will make you feel better" she said to him and kissed his head and went into the living room and sat down on the couch with him on her lap with his head on her chest and turned on paw patrol and turned down the volume so it wouldn't hurt his head

I went into the kitchen and started making breakfast for the kids and Zola came downstairs and went and sat by mer

( Meredith's POV )

Zola came and sat next to me on the couch while Derek made breakfast, Bailey was sick and I have no idea what to do I gave him some medicine but he hated that part and started crying, and Bailey has never sick before

Bailey just kept his head in my chest and buried his head into my breasts and was still crying not making any noises but tears continued to roll down his cheeks and I continued to wipe them away

"What wrong with Bailey mommy?" Zola asked

"He's sick sweetie, remember when you were sick?"

"Mhm" i agreed

"Well baileys sick too"

"Did I make him sick?" She frowned

"No baby, you didn't make him sick, everybody gets sick" I told her truthfully

"Ok" she replied and leaned back on the couch and watched tv with me and bailey

Once Derek finished making breakfast Zola sat at the table while Ellis was still sleeping

I tried to put Bailey down in his seat but didn't want too

"No mama" he cried as tears started streaming from his eyes

"Okay, you can sit in my lap for breakfast okay"

He didn't respond

We ate breakfast in comfortable silence while I fed Bailey his on my lap, once we finished breakfast Derek brought all the dishes to the sink and started washing them, I thanked him then I brought Bailey up to his room and gave him a bath and tucked him in bed and kissed his forehead and he fell asleep

I went back downstairs and went into Ellis's nursery
I picked her up and held her in my arms she was so small with her tiny button nose

"Hi baby girl now did you sleep" i said softly and then pulled my dress and bra down and let her latch on immediately while she I sat in the rocking chair rocking and watching her nurse while I played with her tiny little hand

Once she finished I put my bra back on and pulled my dress back up and zipped it then I put her on the changing table, Arizona said since it was so warm out especially where we live It was best for her to sleep in only a diaper so that's why she was only wearing a diaper which also made easier to changer her

I changed her diaper and then dressed her in a light pink onesie then held her with her head on my shoulder facing towards me and walked into the living room seeing Zola snuggled up to Derek while they were watching paw patrol

I went and sat on the other side of the couch and held Ellis in my arms with her head in my arms

"We'll look who finally decided to wake up" Derek said while looking at Ellis and smiled

"At least she's sleeps long enough for us to eat breakfast" I giggled

"Oh and by the way, my the way my mothers coming over in a few hours" He said nervously

"Derek I'll be fine"

"You sure?, she's never met the kids"

That's you're fault not mine" I giggled

"Why whatever" I sighed and continued to watch tv

"What about Amelia, does she know?"

"Nope"

"Well you might want to tell her she hasn't seen or talked to you're mother in years" I told him

"Well that's her problem"

I rolled my eyes and went down the hallway and knocked on Amelias door and she opened the door

"Yea mer?"

"You're mothers coming in a few hours"

"What?!"

"Yea, Derek just told me, he wasn't going to tell you but I decided to tell you as a heads up"

"Crap, thank you mer, you're a saint, I always knew you were a better sister than my my biological sisters" she said and closed the door the get dressed because she was naked for some reason

Why is everyone always naked in this house?
