Nightmares

This is a Leo and Harley (not the Marvel one, the Hephaetus kid) angst/fluff drabble for Lulusurfista. 

TW for disturbing nightmare and a big warning for spoilers if you haven't read the ending of HoO

Fire. All Leo could see was fire, burning everything he loved. The entirety of Camp Halfblood was on fire, and it was his fault. His fault, just like his mother's death and all of the destruction he caused.

Nyssa had been right. His fire was a curse of the worst kind, the kind that ate away at everyone else leaving him to watch as those he could not save were taken from him. I'm a monster.

Leo could feel his body seizing as he choked on a combination of his tears and the rotten, burning smoke that hung around him. He couldn't breathe, he couldn't breathe, he couldn'-

A weight in his chest caused the smell of the smoke to lessen, the bright burning of the flames to decrease.

"Leo, wake up!"

Harley? But Harley died in the fire? Now I have to deal with the people I couldn't save HAUNTING me?

I'm sorry I couldn't save you...

"Leo, please, you're scaring me! It's just a dream, everybody's okay, you're in Bunker Nine like always."

Leo's eyes flew open, and the first thing he saw was Harley's tearful face. "Hey, hey, sorry I scared you, little bro. Just a nightmare."

Sniffling, the little boy snuggled into Leo, who wrapped his arms around his half-brother. "I had a nightmare too, one about when we thought you were gone, so I had to come see if you were still here. It was scary, because you weren't breathing and I thought we lost you again!"

"Hey, I'm here okay? None of the things we dreamed about are real anymore, so we can go back to sleep and have better ones."

"Ok. Can I stay here?"

"Of course, Harley. I'll keep the nightmares away for you."

"And I'll keep them away from you, Leo."

Harley's breathing slowed, and Leo smiled as he began drifting off to sleep. It was all just a bad dream, and this time his sleep would be so much better because he wasn't alone.

Sorry this one is very short, I thought that the sweetness of the moment would be ruined if it was more than just a little 'woke up with nightmares and was comforted by a sibling' scene.
