"Where is everyone?" Bryde said as he entered the Fighting Maroon's practice area wearing his practice attire.
"It's just us, Bryde. We're all that's left," Michael Sandoval aka Mike, one of the team's power forward players stepped closer to Bryde as the latter placed his gym bag on top of the bench with his eyebrows furrowed deeply together.

"Why? How about Calicdan, Espino, Agustin?" Bryde tersely replied with the same squint on his usually impassive face.
"Calicdan transferred to another school, Espino went to the US and will be continuing his studies there while Agustin opted out of the team due to recurring injuries," Gustav Filomeno more known as Coach Guy said from behind them, he was holding a clipboard and was busy scrawling notes into them while looking at the other players present.

"I can't believe it! They are our senior players! Who will be left for the team?" Bryde said in an exasperated tone, momentarily losing his stoic façade. But Guy remained unperturbed and continued scrawling on the clipboard he was holding without looking directly towards Bryde's anxious face.
"We have a recruit, he is half-Thai so he is eligible to play for this season. We will have to fetch him from the airport because he would be arriving from Thailand where both his parents are. They just moved there three years ago so Joss has a soft spot for the Philippines and elected to continue his studies here even if they are already based in Thailand," Guy explained in a patient tone, unmindful of Bryde's foul mood.
