From spilling liquids on my clothes and harsh bumps in the office he made working there harder than I believed it could be.

One day while we were working I broke a mixing bowl as I was preparing medicine for a newly injured soldier.'

He lay on the bed resting and while I was preparing the medicine I tripped over my foot falling to the floor with the bowl.

The loud crash caused the soldier to wake up

" are you okay?" he asked

I simply nodded my head and bent down to pick up the pieces

" stop your hand is bleeding" he tried reaching out but I moved back quickly

I already knew Dr. John has heard the commotion and was on his way

The sound of footsteps approaching me quickly proved my prediction to be true.

He entered the room face already red with anger

" How dare you break my tools. Do you want to prevent me from saving lives ?"

" I'm sorry sir i-i-i tripped" I tried to hold my composure but my hand shook with the fear of what Dr.John might do next

I didn't notice the soldier beside me was watching my actions.

"I am tired of these immigrants coming into my space and thinking they own it. If the general wouldn't have spoken up on your behalf we would have chased you out of the town by now"

I kept my head down trying to remain silent

" I bet you slept with him to make it her you whore" he sneered looking at me

I looked up at him in disgust and anger

Once I made eye contact I watched him take a step back

Fear filled his eyes

He quickly masked it and picked up one of our knives

" what are you" he whispered walking back up to me

Anger filled his body as I stood watching him silently

"Answer me!" he yelled running towards me

My body froze and I couldn't move

I braced myself for the impact but instead, I saw dr. John was on the floor knocked out

I looked up at the soldier who shook his fist in pain looking down in disgust at him

" I hate men like that" he whispered to himself

I stood there carefully watching this man walking towards

Then my eyes drifted back down to the man on the floor. My gaze drifted to the knife that now rested a couple of feet away from his hands.

I didn't even realize the soldier was so close to me

I felt two cold hands touch mine

I looked to see him staring intensely at me

"Your hands are shaking"

I pulled my hands out of his and stepped back

"I was scared, "I said trying to sound confident

"I know me too"

From that moment kent and I was almost inseparable.

As he worked his way up in training I gained some trust in the camp and was able to become a solo medic after Dr.John disappeared

I felt Kent's warm hands reach out and I grab mine

"I'm sorry Luna"

"It's okay kent" I looked up to see him trying to be strong for me

My heart couldn't take it anymore. I reached out and pulled him into a hug. It took a few minutes for him to hug me back but when he did my heart felt full. The thing felt almost normal again.

I don't know how long we held each other on that prison floor but we both held each other until the next morning.

We were woken up by the sounds of guards outside our cell doors.

" wake up traitors!" they yelled banging their weapons against the metal doors causing my ears to ring

I felt kent push me behind him

"Awe kai's girlfriend found a new plaything" kent stepped forward but I placed my hand on his shoulder to stop him.

I did not know if my powers have returned and there was no way we could take all these soldiers in the state that we are in

" too bad you can save her or yourself the king request the presence of you two for a trial before your execution."

" execution" I whispered

" yeah! he doest takes traitors very lightly" one of the guards laughed

He opened the door ushering all the guards in

They grabbed both out of our hands and dragged us out of the room.

No matter how much I fought back I could still feel traces of the poison in my system weakening my body

I couldn't run or fight so I let the guards drag me to wherever they wanted to take me
