10. Poem

Krist (pov)

Me and New were sitting in the canteen before the classes began since he wanted to grab something to eat.

It's only been two days since the showdown and my mind has still been on that stupid poem.
Why?

God knows why!

'It wasn't obvious,
As the colour changed from a deep red to purple.
Yet it wasn't obvious,
lost was my smile and so was I.
Yet it wasn't obvious,
When I stopped chasing the butterflies.'

Why am I so adamant to further dissect this?! Even the way he said it just felt like this poem revolves around him... But again why the fuck am I so interested~

"Yo, what happened ?" New said making me snap my head to lookup

"Huh? Nothing ...~"

"It's not nothing come on fill me in no one's around, " new said making me Look around,

"Of course no one is here New no one comes to get a cream roll this early in the morning !"

"Hey ! Don't insult the cream roll," he said defensively making me chuckle.

New and his sweet tooth, in actuality the entire wolf pack should be here but Bright had to go for a football meeting and Off had to go meet his tutor, I still can't believe his grades are that bad that he had to take tuitions from a batchmate! Even bright is doing better .. well... I don't know actually.

"But seriously though you can talk to me," he said as he took a bite of his food while I sighed.

"New ~ " I called out after a bit while he hummed.

"Do you know what a purple heart signifies ?" I said looking towards him while he shook his head no.

"Uh...I had read somewhere that it signifies a bruised heart .. a heart that's hurting"

"Really? Aw but a purple heart is so pretty! Wait no I've seen that it means like love and support .. Krist are you trolling me ? " he said and I shook my head.

"No no.. in this scenario it means a bruised heart at least I think it does.." I said making New shrug.

Now I'm confused am I overthinking it?

"New... how about a butterfly? Do you know what that signifies ?" I said and he looked up blinking

"Uh nope.. why are you quizzing me? "He said making me chuckle and shake my head.

"It signifies rebirth, new beginnings !" I said and new nodded humming along.

Why did you stop chasing the Butterflies?

"Wait .. purple .. butterflies? Krist is this about the competition ?" New said making my eyes widen.

"From that reaction, I'm going to say that It is... What are you thinking about exactly ?" He added making me look away.

"Nothing... it's just.. that competition... Um... I don't know I feel like we've been going a bit harder on the Raven's than necessary" I replied looking back at him while he smiled.

"Really? "

"Yeah I mean.. they were good at those competitions... They did put up a good fight " I shrugged
