A flying mosquito caught me off guard. Bumilis ang tibok ng puso ko nang dumapo ito sa kamay ko.
"You should start to watch after your daughter, Mr. Chen. Well, thankfully, she got recover. Dengue is a serious illness. If this happens again, it would possibly lead her into severe dengue."
"Can dengue happen twice?" Mom asked.
The Doctor nodded. "It is possible to get dengue more than once. If you have had dengue in the past, you are more likely to develop severe dengue."
"Oh, gosh," mom says as she covers his mouth. I saw my Dad facing palm.
"W-What is severe dengue po?" I dared to ask because it seems I am the only one who doesn't know what they are talking about.
The Doctor smiled at me. "It's very dangerous," she replied.
"W-What do you mean?" I asked again. I noticed the surprised on her face. I'm now 11 years old and I can understand now.
"Severe dengue fever is a life-threatening medical emergency. Yes... it could lead you to death. So, you should be more careful next time because there is no known cure for severe dengue."
Napasigaw ako sa takot nang maaalala ko iyong mga nangyari noong bata ako. Sumigaw lang ako nang sumigaw hanggang sa may iilang taong dali-daling nagsi-pasukan sa kwarto. "Get me out of here!" I yelled. Hindi ko sila masyadong ma-mukhaan pero naaaninag ko iyong mga bodies nila. "Who are you?!"
Naramdaman kong may lalaking lumapit sa'kin. He held my chin and I heard him laughed. "Dito ka lang."
"What do you need?! Sino ba kayo?!" sigaw ko pa. They are all boys. There's actually three inside the room. "Are you the boyfriends of the three girls I just met?!"
Natawa iyong nasa harap ko. "Hindi. Pero salamat sa kanila."
I shouted again. Nakita kong napatakip siya ng tainga. "Get me the fuck out of here! Ano bang kailangan niyo sa'kin?! Tell me now!"
"Papuntahin mo 'yung magaling mong kapatid dito," seryosong sagot niya.
Kumunot iyong noo ko. "S-Sino ba kayo?!"
"Huwag kang mag-alala, hindi ka naman namin sasaktan, e. Si Chester lang 'yung gusto naming papuntahin dito," sabi naman nung isa habang naglalakad palapit sa'kin. Maya-maya ay may iniabot siya sa'king phone. "Cellphone mo. Tawagan mo si Chester ngayon na."
