Chapter 15

My forehead automatically creased as I realized I woke up in an unfamiliar room. I looked around to see where I am, not until I saw Deandrew sleeping beside my bed, holding my hand. "Dee..." I said while tapping his shoulders.

Naalarma naman siya agad nang makita niya ako. "Y-You're awake, how are you feeling?" he asked, but instead of answering, I looked around again.

"Am I in the h-hospital?" gulat na tanong ko. Bumangon ako agad. "W-Why am I here?" My heart starts to beat faster. Anong nangyari sa'kin? Na-dengue ba ulit ako? "Take me out of here!"

Deandrew held my shoulders. "Relax. You've been asleep for 24 hours right after you passed out."

"Take me out of here," ulit ko pa. "And please, don't tell me the reason why I am here. I don't want to know..." halos mangiyak-ngiyak na sambit ko. "Please..."

He sighed. "Alright. Relax. I'll tell the doctors, be here at five."

He was about to leave when I called out his name. "Alam ba 'to ng mga magulang ko?" Kasi kung oo, ayoko nang pati ito po-problemahin pa nila. Hindi ko naman kasi alam kung bakit dito ako dinala ni Dee, at ayaw ko namang alamin dahil natatakot talaga ako.

He shook his head. "No, even Drex, Xyll and Olivia."

"W-Why?"

"Because I know you won't like the idea of telling them," he replied. "You wanna call them first?"

Umiling ako. "No, no. I'm okay. Thank you."

He smiled. "You're welcome," sabi niya pa saka tuluyan nang umalis.

Napatingin ako sa kamay ko. I should be freaking out right now because of the dextrose, subalit mas nangingibabaw iyong kilig na nararamdaman ko nung pagka-gising ko, hawak ko iyong kamay niya... I've been asleep for 24 hours. So, it means... he's just here alone the whole time, since no one knows I'm confined.

A chime of a phone caught my attention. It was Dee's phone.

Are we okay?

Napaiwas ako ng tingin.

Sa pagkaka-alam ko, hindi naman sila nagka-balikan. They're just talking. Hindi ko na alam kung anong meron, the important right now is hindi ako naka-sira ng isang relasyon.

I sighed. Hindi naman siguro...

Maya-maya ay pumasok na rin iyong mga doctor. Si Dee na iyong kuma-kausap since nagi-inarte talaga ako ngayon. Ewan ko, nadu-duwag talaga ako kapag may doctor akong kaharap. Si Dee kasi mukhang napaka-confident, akala mo naman tatay ko kung makipag-usap sa mga doctor. Kung sa bagay, doctor din Mommy nito, e.

Si Dee iyong umalalay sa'kin papuntang parking area. Habang may mga naka-sunod na nurse sa likod namin.

"Uhm... can we take an order na lang sa Mcdo?" sabi ko sa kanya. Hiyang-hiya na kasi talaga ako sa kanya. He was the one who paid the bill kaya! And to think na he's still a student, grabe. I'm so thankful. "Or daan na lang tayo sa market, bibili lang akong ingredients. Ipagluluto kita."

"I disagree," he said as he started the car engine.

Kumunot ang noo ko. "Why naman? Gusto ko lang na pagsilbihan ka. Thank you is not enough sa mga ginawa mo."

"It's okay. I'll go for drivethru."

"Pero hindi matatahimik konsensya ko. I really want to serve you."

He sighed. "Okay, but next time. Kaka-discharged mo pa lang. You're still not okay."

Nag-order na lang kami sa Mcdo. Pagkatapos ay inimbita ko siyang sa bahay na lang kami kumain. Ang pabebe rin pala ni Dee. Gusto niya pa iyong pinipilit. E, ang tagal pa bago siya pumayag na pumasok sa bahay. Wala namang tao bukod kay Lola. Si Mommy naman ay hindi masyadong lumalabas ng kwarto.
