On February 27, 2021 JYP announced that Hyunjin was going to go on a hiatus to further reflect on his actions and take care of his health.
Due to bullying accusations against him and a great spark of hatred towards him due to these rumors, he stayed away for 4 months. Even though he was proven innocent, the hate didn't stop in the Korean community and many wished that he would just leave the group.
However, many more fans anxiously awaited the moment when he would come back.
After Kingdom ended and Stray Kids won, we were offered many teasers for Hyunjin's comeback. Especially in the teasers for Stray Kids reality show coming up for Kingdom and a tweet from JYP saying that "Stray Kids is 8".
Thankfully on June 26th, 2021 Hyunjin came back.
Fans were surprised to see Stray Kids release a MV callled "Mixtape: OH" without warning and were even more touched when they saw Hyunjin there looking happy and healthy.
Later that day, JYP confirmed the return, claiming that Hyunjin will fully resume his activities come this July.
