I THOUGHT

Chapter 8

They we're the crews in Pantry station kasama si Ryujin, at Chaeryoung saka team leader nila si Lia.

"Hi." Tipid na sabi ko saka ngumiti nang konte. Napatingin naman ako kay Yeji.

Ilang araw na kasi siya grabe makatingin eh or sadyang malapusa lang talaga yung mga mata niya.

I just averted my eyes off of her, saka pumasok sa office ni Rosie.

Lahat sila hindi ko close, may araw nga na di ko nakakausap ang iba kasi di naman ako nakikipag usap talaga kapag di nila ako kinakausap.

Naupo nalang ako sa couch, wala pa kasi si Rosie. 6:30 pa naman yung schedule ko, mag bubukas ang Restaurant 6am pero wala pa naman masyadong costumers sa napapansin ko lang.

Minutes after, I was just closing my eyes when my phone rang.

I get it from my pocket, and saw the caller. It was Mom.

I answered it, but didn't utter anything.

"Lisa, anak? How are you?" She initiated, I took a deep breath.

Hindi ko na kasi muna siya kinausap mula nung nang explain siya sakin kung bakit niya ginawa to pati si kuya.

"I don't know. All I know is I'm doing what you want." I said.

"That's good then. I'm just hoping after that may matutunan kana." I rolled my eyes.

"Ano ba kasing dapat kung matutunan, Mom?  Ang makipag halubilo nang tao? Nagawa ko naman na eh. Makipag usap? Nagawa ko rin yan. Ano pabang gusto niyo?" Tanong ko at rinig ko nalang yung paghinga niya nang malalim.

"You'll soon know, Lisa. Naniniwala akong may mas importante ka pang matutunan sa bagay na yan." I bitterly chuckle.

"Ewan ko. Baka sinasayang niyo lang yung oras ni Rosie." Bulong ko.

"Anyway, I'll hang up now. Gusto lang kitang kamustahin. You take care of yourself there, okay? I love you." Sabi niya pero di na ako nakaimik nang bigla niyang pinatay ang tawag.

Leaning my back in the couch, I slammed my phone in the table.

Hindi ko alam kung anong pinagsasabi nang mommy ko. I don't even have any ideas kung ano bang sinasabi niya na dapat kung matutunan.

Baka kasi nag eexpect siya na kayang baguhin nang trabahong to yung ugali ko. Ako nga di alam kung kaya ba, siya pa kaya?

I was just closing my eyes, while busy with my thoughts nang marinig kong bumukas ang pinto.

"Too early, huh?" Its Rosie. I open my eyes, and saw her in her favorite outfit.

Long sleeves plus her jeans.

"Did you eat breakfast already?" She asked, I shook my head.

Tinamad na kasi akong magluto kanina kaya dumiretso nalang ako dito.

"Good. I have something here. Eat first before you get in." She said at nilagay na nga ang iba't ibang lunch box sa mesa na nasa harapan ko lang.

I was just looking at her, wala na kasi akong masabi eh. Tinamad nanaman siguro or tamad lang talaga akong makipag usap.

"Hm. Here." She uttered giving me spoon, and fork bago umupo kaharap ko.

"Lets eat?" She asked. I just nod, then start feeding myself.

Tahimik lang kaming kumakain hanggang sa...

"What?" I snapped nang nakatingin na pala siya sakin pababa sa pagkain ko.

"Uhm.." She uttered, at pansin kong wala na siyang pagkain sa plato niya. Hihingi ba siya?

Napaikot nalang ako nang mata saka binigay sakanya yung dalawang sausage saka dalawang ham.

Nakakahiya naman diba?

"Kyaah! I should've cooked plenty of this." She said cheerfully, then pout.

Damn. It was just sausage, and ham! But she's cute.

After minutes, natapos narin akong kumain. Buti nalang mas nauna na ako this time,
baka siya lang uubos nang pagkaing nasa box ko eh.

"Ahh! Next time you'll cook for me too, okay?" She spoke kaya napasimangot ako. Hindi ko nga kayang ipagluto ang sarili, siya pa kaya?

"I don't cook." She laugh. Aish! She's so annoying.

"I don't believe you, but if you really don't know. I can teach you." She said, then gave me a glass of water, then clean the mini table.

"Whatever." She just chuckle.

I checked the time in the wall, then stood up.
Its already 6:15am, 15 minutes to prepare.

"I'll just change." I told her, then went in her bathroom.

I remove all my clothes, folding them properly before placing it inside my bag. I then wore my red polo, then my black fitted slacks including my socks before I went outside.

Ahh! I really hate wearing fitted. Lalo na sa public. Feeling ko halata lang masyado yung nasa harapan ko.

Gets nyo?

I placed my bag in the couch again, then look at the mirror. I try to fix my uniform when she spoke.

"Where's your name tag?" She asked. I almost forget it.

I get it inside my bag including the cap. I was about to pin the name tag in my shirt, when she went in front of me.

"Let me." She uttered, then get the name tag in my hand.

She's too close to me, but she focusing on pinning the name tag in the chest part of my shirt.

After she did it, she look at me. She fixed my collar, and look at me again.

I don't know, but the whole time she's doing this, I was just letting her which is so unusual of me.

She move closer that made me stepped back. She chuckle.

"Just fixing your hair, so the hairnet would fit." She uttered.

She did fix my hair, put the hairnet, then the black cap.

"There you go." She said.

I look at myself, and saw me wearing the uniform properly. Unlike the other days of wearing it alone.

"Go now. Don't forget the time in." She said behind. I then turn my back, and starts to walk toward the door, but before I could open it...

I look at her again, she look at me confused.

I smile.

"Thank you."
