"What happened?" I asked concerned. "I couldn't keep track of where the ball was!" he yelled in pain.

I could tell he was in a lot of pain. "Hey, hey. It's alright." I said softly, I helped pick him up by his arms.

I walked him over to the dugout and sat him down on the bench. The rest of the boys made it over and surrounded him with questions.

I could tell he was trying his best not to cry, he probably didn't wanna cry in front of his friends. I ran over to my backpack and grabbed out a cloth, I usually kept two clothes in my backpack to wipe sweat off my face after we played.

Luckily I had a clean one. I quickly grabbed it and poured my cold water on it. I ran back over to the crowd of boys.

"Guys, move out the way!" I yelled trying to push threw them. None of them had heard me, they were to busy trying to make fun of Squints for not catching it.

I was about to yell again when I felt someone jerk me back. I looked behind me to see Benny. He smiled and walked in front of me. He went to where I had been standing and yelled, "Move!"

All the boys heard him and quickly went silent. The boys moved out of the way for Benny. Benny turned around and winked at me before moving out the my way creating an opening.

I rolled my eyes at him and walked through. I quickly walked over to Squints who was still covering his face with his head was hung low.

"Squints, here. I have a cold cloth for you." I spoke kneeling on my left knee. Squints looked at me slightly hiding his face from the others. He smiled slightly and removed his hand from his eye allowing me to place the cloth on his bruise.

I lightly placed the cloth over his eye and placed his hand over it to keep it in place.  "Thanks y/n." Squints said lightly, I patted his shoulder and got up.

I turned around to see Yeah-yeah behind me with a massive smile. "Wanna leave the Sandlot now?" He asked.

I furrowed my eyebrows and looked at the old watch on my right wrist. I looked back up at yeah-yeah "We've only been here for forty minutes."

"So? It gives us more time for our date." He said with a smirk.

"Yeah-yeah, listen. As much as I'd like to spend this entire day with you. I'd really like to finish playing baseball." I gave him a soft smile before turning around back to the field.

"But y/n-" Yeah-yeah started grabbing my arm. "Leave her alone Yeah-yeah! She said she wants to play ball!" I turned around to see Benny who had just pushed Yeah-yeah to the ground.

"Benny! What the hell is wrong with you!" I screamed standing in front of him. I had never seen Benny so mad.

"What the f*ck Benny!" DeNunez yelled as he just reached the scene. The rest of the boys came over and helped pick up Yeah-yeah.

"Dude, seriously. What is up with you today?" Timmy stared at Benny in fear. Benny's face softened and looked away from me and at Yeah-yeah.

"I-  I'm sorry. I don't know what-" Bertram intervened and stood in front of Benny head hung low. "Maybe you should go..."

Benny scanned all the boys faces and looked at me. We made eye contact for a few seconds, I quickly looked down hiding my guilt.

"Alright... Well I'm sorry guys. I really don't know what came over me." With that I heard Benny's footsteps disappear. I finally looked back up at the rest of the boys.

"What's wrong with him? Were you being annoying today?" Ham asked stepping into the silence.

Yeah-yeah looked down, "I don't know, I don't remember doing anything to him." I looked at Squints who now had a large dark purple bruise over his eye.
