Chapter 30

"Hi Emma!"

Camila giggled as she withdrew her palm from between the elders legs, her shocked face turning quickly to glance back at the now awkwardly standing teacher.. she pulled her dress back to cover her body before stepping out from behind Camila to offer a timid but equally as embarrassed stare

"Camila I'll catch up with you later baby.."

She directed, watching the girl walk from the room to now brush shoulders with the teacher, her giggle following her out into the hall while Emma only stepped slowly inside with folded shallow arms

"I thought you had a rule on office sex LJ.."

"I did.. it's not the first time but maybe deadlocking the door would be a good idea next time.." Lauren laughed awkwardly, fixing her hair back over her shoulder before checking her makeup in the mirror just beside "What can I do for you anyway.."

"Well this is kind of awkward now but I wanted to talk to you about Camila.."

Lauren cocked her brow at the mention of Camila's name, her breath pausing too as she set back down against her chair followed by the best friend that shadowed opposite

"What about her?" She asked bluntly, her tone indicating she had no time for anything other than work

"She came in today with this horrible attitude Lauren? She wasn't willing to participate and she caused this whole scene.. I had to kick her out?" She replied with sadness riding through her words, she liked Camila and had gathered a lot of time for her.. she just didn't understand why exactly this morning she was chosen as a target

"So she woke up in a bad mood? We all have our days Emma!"

"No Lauren this was different! We get along great but today she just seemed as if she wanted to have conflict with me? Did she seem ok with you?"

Lauren had been known never to rise with Emma, she remained calm always and strived to present herself as a sound mind.. Today however she seemed more than hostile in Camila's defence, slamming her palm down into the desk only to glare up with a darkening set of emerald orbs

"She was fine! Just needed a breather obviously so if that's all?"

"Lauren.. I'm not here to attack her.. I just want to make sure she was ok? That's all.."

Lauren rolled her eyes once again, the chosen method of confrontation one her best friend was now resilient to

"Why are you being so defensive Lo.."

"I'm defensive because I understand her! You don't Emma!"

She snarled back, her eyes darkening into an uncomfortable mist of distrust, the best friend now staring back as if stepping over a sensitive subject.. she didn't know why now it had become so touchy but still.. she trusted Lauren, she knew whatever this new energy was, was entirely necessary..

"Fine.. whatever then! Next time I'll just kick her out and let you ambush me with your tantrum instead of doing the decent thing and telling you first!"

"Don't pull that guilt trip bullshit on me Emma-

"No! I'm here looking out for her because I can see you care! Obviously you care about keeping everyone out of her life huh!"
