Chapter 12

The big screen changes to a half body picture of Todoroki and Sero in their gym uniforms.

Present Mic: "He's good! He's good, but what's with the plainness he just can't get rid of? From the hero course, Hanta Sero!"

Kirishima: "This is gonna be interesting!"

Present Mic: "Versus- Taking second, then first in the prelims! You're way too strong, kid! He wasn't recommended for admission for nothing! Also from the hero course, it's Shoto Todoroki! And now, for the second match of the finals- ready… start!"

Sero immediately launched his tape from both of his elbows, holding Todoroki as he tried to drag Todoroki out of bounds.

Present Mic: "A surprise attack aimed to push his opponent out of bounds! Don't you think that was the best choice for this situation?! Seriously, get him, Sero!"

Kirishima: "He's got this!"

Kuuga manages to catch a glimpse of Todoroki's feet as he sees white mist coming out of it.

Kuuga: (blankly) "No good."

Kirishima: (tilts head) "Eh?"

Todoroki counterattacks with his ice, freezing half of the stadium, Kuuga's purple eyes glow as he makes a black mist barrier in front of his classmates, leaving everyone in shock, Kuuga's eyes bleed from the sudden force the newly made barrier took.

Kuuga: (wiping blood) "That was close… you guys okay?"

The class shakingly looks at him and nods.

Midnight: (half frozen) "Sero, can you move?"

Sero: "O-Of course n-not… Ow!"

Midnight: "Sero is immobilized! Todoroki advances to the second round!"

Girl: "Nice try!"

Suddenly, the whole crowd yells "nice try" to reassure Sero.

Kuuga activates his quirk as black mists start to go around the ice near them as it starts to vaporize and mix with the mist, with the black cloud increasing in size every second. He makes the mist disappear as he covers his eyes in an attempt to massage it.

Kirishima: "Oi, you okay?"

Kuuga: "The mist is too heavy for my eyes. I need some eye treatment right now… I'll pay Recovery Girl a quick visit."

Kirishima: "Oh, can you get an extra gummy bear from her?"

Kuuga: (sighs) "Sure."

Kirishima: (grins) "Get the red one if possible!"

Kuuga: "Sure…"

Kuuga stood up from his seat as he tried to walk out of the spectators area, but because of the eye strain, he looked like a walking drunkard.

Iida: (stood up) "Kiriu, are you okay?!"

Kuuga: "These damn eyes and quirk…"

Jiro stood up from her seat as she tried to assist Kuuga.

Kuuga: "What are you doing?"

Jiro: "Assisting you, idiot. That's the least I can do from all the help you did to me."

Kuuga: "I'm fine, I can go by myself-"

Jiro cuts him off by poking one of her earphone jacks at Kuuga's head, making him drop and use the railings as a support.

Kuuga: "Okay, okay!"

Jiro smiles internally as she assists Kuuga towards the clinic.
