Benny's mom walked up the staircase and disappeared behind a wall. Matt and I both looked at each other in awkwardness. Matt grabbed my hand and whispered, "act natural, you don't wanna ruin anything" he said looking at me. He knew how important it was that I had a crush, cause it was simply my first. I nodded my head and before we knew it out came Benny's mom she smiled at me and matt and said "He'll be out in a minute." she said before walking into the kitchen. 

I just thought to myself what I'd say after running away from him yesterday. All of a sudden Benny jogged down stairs dressed in a white shirt that had a green sleeve that ran half way down his arm, paired with blue jeans, a belt and his PF Flyers. I smiled and waved at him, he returned his smile than quickly turned his gaze to Matt. Matt waved and smiled, Benny smiled back and quickly went to a straight face. 

The tension was weird when it hit me that Matt and I forgot to let go of each others hands. "You guys dating?" He asked starring at our hands. Matt and I quickly glanced at each other and looked at our hands.

We quickly reacted and let go of each others hand. My eyes widened and I looked at Benny who grabbed his glove from the coffee table in his living room. 

"Benny-" Benny cut me off and said "C'mon we don't wanna be late. Bye Mom!" He yelled waving at his mom and pushed right past us and opened the door. Matt looked at me and mouthed 'sorry' before following Benny out the door. 

"Bye Benny's mom!" I yelled and quickly followed Matt out, shutting the door behind me. Benny watched as I shut the door and as soon as he realized I noticed him watching me, he quickly turned around and started walking.

"Benny.." I said running up to his left side. "Yea?" He asked sternly, he didn't even look at me he just kept walking. 

"Can I introduce you to my friend from Texas?" I asked trying to keep up with Benny's pace. He quickly stopped, I noticed and quickly stopped a second after. I turned and faced him, "sure." He said looking at Matt. 

I walked up to Matt and said "This is Matt Greyson. We've been friends since 1st grade, and I was wondering if he could play with us." I said squinting my eyes at Benny trying to block the sun out of my eyes. 

"Hey man!" Matt spoke up reaching out his hand. "Hey." Benny replied taking his hand. They shook hands for a long period of time just starring at each other in the eyes.

I swear it was like 30 seconds before Matt broke the shake. Matt glanced at me and back at Benny who was starring at me. 

"Do you play?" Benny asked Matt quickly,

"Yeah, the thing is I don't have a glove." He said looking at me.

I was waiting for Benny to pull a glove out of his back pocket but instead he replied saying, "Guess you can't play." He said before turning around and started walking off.

Matt looked at me and started "I thought you said-" I suddenly ran towards Benny and spun him around by yanking his shoulder. 

"What?" He asked clenching the bat in his left hand. I could tell he was mad, yet I didn't know what we had done so wrong. I quickly reacted without thinking and got up to his face, I leaned my hand behind him making our bodies press up on each other. The side of my head was up on his chest, I could hear his heat beating fast. 

I quickly grabbed the glove from his back right pocket. And moved away from him instantly, "You always have an extra one Benny." I said smirking at him. 

He quickly looked down at his feet and replied, "a-alright... lets go." He quickly took off jogging to the sandlot. I ran over to Matt and gave him the glove.
