Chapter 16

Even though we were in his place, it was one of my memorable days being with him.

I like the idea that all the time that I am with him, he never takes advantage of me or our situation, he doesn't even open a topic about intimacy. 

Hanggang yakap lang siya, tapos yung yakap niya pa para akong babasaging bagay na iniingatan niyang hindi mabasag.

It made me fall for him again. He's indeed a gentleman. 

"Nasa kalawakan na naman utak mo, Shantal." Nilingon ko si Yra na kasama ko na ulit ngayon sa cafeteria.

Ngayon ko lang mas lalong nakikita na parang nalalayo na kami ni Yra dahil sa mga sikretong tinatago namin sa isa't isa. Alam kong alam niya na may mga bagay na akong hindi ko nasasabi sa kanya, gano'n din ako. 

My lips form a smirk.

"Oo na, si Javis iniisip mo," naiiling sabi niya na inunahan agad ako.

I softly laughed because of it. Kilala na nga talaga nitong babaeng kaharap ko yung pagkatao ko. If only I was able to tell her everything.

"Okay, so our promenade is settled, all the payment of the students, the venue, the theme, and everything. Two weeks na lang magaganap na yung prom natin," pagsasalita ni Rizza na SSG president namin.

My other co-member answered her, while I just nodded my head.

Medyo matagal na rin pala yung huling pagkikita namin ni Javis na ako bilang si Lirilyn. I don't have much time because I'm really busy, and so he is. I don't want to bother him.

Going back to our promenade. Medyo matagal na rin naman namin na plano lahat, inunti-unti namin para hindi hassle sa part namin. 

Dripping in Luxury masquerade ball is the theme we decided on. 

Most of the students in our university invaded luxurious things. Therefore, that will be the central theme of our promenade, and for the excitement, all the students who will attend the party will wear a mask. 

Well, the masquerade theme is my idea. It was a motive decision of mine, but they like it in the end when I told them a fake reason.

I am planning to have a dance with Javis that day. Hindi pwedeng matapos ang araw na 'yon na hindi ko siya masasayaw. 

Nakinig lang kami sa mga bilin ng bawat officers pati na rin mismo ng President namin. May mga meeting pa kami sa susunod na araw.

"Okay, that's all for today. Meeting adjourned."

"Hay salamat!" halos sigaw ni Ari habang umuunat-unat pa, isa siya member ng SSG.

Pati na rin ako at mga ibang kasamahan namin ay nakakahawa kay Ari. Nakakapagod pa rin yung mga responsibilities namin.

"Yra, gusto mo bang samahan kita bumili ng gown? I have an Auntie who owns a boutique--" 

I looked at my hand when Yra held it hesitantly. She gave me a fake smile. "I have an errand to attend, I'm really sorry Shantal. I'll just text your later, okay?"

"A-Ah... okay--" She doesn't finish me talking again.

Tumalikod na siya at tinignan pa ang screen ng phone habang nagmamadaling umalis.

Halos napatitig ako sa papalayong bulto ni Yra sa akin.

We are always together. Mag classmate pa nga kami, magkasama sa mga meetings, at magkasama sa iba pa naming ginagawa.  But why do I feel like I miss her?

"Oh, ayos ka lang Shantal?" Napaigtad ako nang maramdaman ko ang kamay ni Rizza sa balikat ko. 

"Ah, oo!" Pilit akong ngumiti.
