The first day back at school in the new year.
Fuck
You really didn't want to be here, sitting in class listening to the teacher drone on about the oncoming exams. You had your hand rested against your cheek, already struggling to keep yourself awake.
Eventually the bell rang, signifying the end of first period. You shoot up from your seat, excited to meet Mikasa in biology.
"Someone's in a rush" you hear a coy voice from behind you. Glancing behind you you see Historia Reiss, the one who made the sly comment, which was shorty followed by the giggles of her friends surrounding you. Turning away in embarrassment you make your way out the door. Slipping between the crowded halls you make your way to the second floor to the science wing. You see a splotch of black against the mural and you know exactly what it is. You feel yourself smile a little bit at the sight of Mikasa waiting at the door. Stepping up beside her the two of you step into the class and take your seats, but not before you heard,
"Freaks"
Reiner Braun had passed by the two of you, heading towards his seat at the back lab table. You and Mikasa glance at each other, assuring that each other was okay. Mikasa gives you a small smile as she looks away and you relax, knowing that she was okay. You yourself remained mostly unbothered, it wasn't the first time you had received a comment like that, nobody understood you, that's why they didn't like you.
Letting the rest of the day slip by, you remain in your own fantasies until you heard the final bell ring. You make your way to your locker and spot Mikasa. Smiling your quicken our steps to reach your girlfriend.
"Hey Mika" you say, opening your locker and pulling out your winter jacket.
"Hey y/n, I got some bad news I'm sorry" she said, looking regretful. You could feel your heart drop. What could she have to say?
"I can't walk home with you today. My mom is coming to get me and Eren for our lessons after school"
You had totally forgotten that Mikasa and Eren were starting some after school music/academic lessons. Mikasa was okay with it, but it was obvious that Eren wasn't at all thrilled. You give her a reassuring smile and put your hat on her head, ruffling her black hair.
"As long as you call me later, we'll have no problem!"
She giggles that cute little laugh of her's and you feel your face get a little hot. Mikasa hands you back the hat and turns around, blowing you a little kiss as you watch her form retreating into the crowd. Closing your locker, you sigh and head out into the cold, not at all excited to have to walk home alone.
You walk down the path that leads off of school property when suddenly you hear running footsteps from behind you. You turn around to see Annie jogging to catch up with you, her nose red from the cold and a silver puffy jacket covering her body. She had traded her iconic skirt for a pair of baggy ripped jeans with chains, and her converse for thick black boots.
"Y/n, hey" she said as she caught up to you, panting slightly at the exertion.
"Hey Annie" you smile up at her as you continue to walk side by side with your old friend.
"I haven't seen you in a while, whats up?" You and her started to talk about the last couple months, you omitting the parts with Mikasa. You didn't know how Annie would react to the fact that not only you liked girls, but the fact that you and Mikasa were official, so you decided to keep it to yourself. You and her chatted about your lives and school, and it really lifted your spirits. You missed talking with Annie like this.
"Hey so I was thinking" She started, and you look over to her. Her face had grown a little more red from the cold. Or from something else. "My band is playing at a cafe on friday night, and I was wondering if you would like to come watch us? I have a free ticket and if you want it, it's yours."
You had heard about Annie's band, "The Titans", both from her and from others; they always sold out local shows, they were pretty popular. You loved the type of music they played, and you didn't want to miss this chance at seeing them play. Nodding your head eagerly, you agree to seeing Annie play on friday. She's got a big grin on her face.
"Wicked"

The rest of the week, you and Annie would walk together after school,talking and reconnecting like old friends. You were so excited for the concert, and you had promised Mikasa to bring her back a souvenir, though she wasn't too keen on you hanging out with Annie. you did your best to reassure her that everything was fine, and that nothing would happen to you while you were out with the 'older kids'. Your girlfriend didn't seem convinced, but you always reassured her by placing a kiss on her cheek and promising you'd be fine.

You had been dropped off at the cafe where The Titans where playing. It was 15 minutes until showtime, and you pushed your way as best as you could through the packed crowed to the front so you could see your friend. People weren't joking when they said The Titans always sold out, you had to shove several people (and get shoved) just so you could get a tiny spot right at the front. You saw the band setting up; Annie was the lead guitarist and backup singer. You saw Berthold Hoover, another senior on bass, some guy with blonde hair and an undercut (whom you've heard is Porco) on percussion, and a beautiful girl with long black hair standing at the front, obliviously the main singer. The band calls for attention and the lead girl starts to introduce the band, and you learn her name is Pieck. As Pieck was talking, you glance over at Annie to see the was already looking at you. When your eyes meet, Annie smirks and gives you a wink before turning back around. Moments later, Porco starts a beat on the drums and the band starts.
The rest of the night you jumped and moshed with everyone else as the band played song after song, absolutely killing the show and totally energizing the space. You were having so much fun, even though you had been pushed around a few times by the rest of the crowd. When the final song was over, everyone clapped and cheered, and the crowed loosened up as people started to leave or break into groups throughout the cafe. The players start to pack up a little bit before they head out into the crowd to greet friends. Annie unplugs her amp and puts away her guitar and steps out into the crowd. She makes her way between people towards you, nodding and waving at every complement on her playing and the performance.
Eventually she reaches you, a grin o her face and you complement her playing and the rest of the band. She laughed and thanked you for the words, and other people started to crowd around her. People started to jostle you away from Annie, but she throws her arm around your shoulders and pulled you into her side as she laughed and talked with the crowd around her.
The cafe was pretty dark and you couldn't see the blush on Annie's face of the teasing looks she received from the singer Pieck. You and Annie hung out a little while longer before your (guardian) picked you up at 11. Before leaving, Annie pulled you in for a hug that lasted longer than normal, and she pulled away, smiled at you, and turned away back into the crowd.
You headed home, head full of the music and the lights, excited to tell Mikasa about it tomorrow.

A/N: Hey gang! I got my vaccine yesterday and got my ass WHOOPED by all the worst symptoms (nausea, fever, chills, headache, pain) and today I can't hardly move my left arm, but this means it's working so I'm glad. How are you all doing?
