"You have a ride home?" Dexter Klein stood by his sister's locker at the end of the day. Zoe nodded as she glanced over to see him fidgeting in his lacrosse uniform. "What's going on with you?" She asked.

Dexter shrugged as he looked at her, "Nothing." He said as Zoe turned to him and raised her eyebrows causing Dexter to sigh, "Coach offered me the captain position." He said as Zoe smiled, "But I turned it down."

"Wait, why? Dexter, this is a good thing." Zoe said as she shut her locker. "I know, I just - Jackson should have it. I know I'm good at lacrosse. You know I'm good at lacrosse. Coach knows, everyone knows. I don't need a stupid title to show off what I know I'm good at." Dexter huffed as he walked away.

Zoe chuckled to herself as she turned around instantly bumping into someone. "Oh shoot." She muttered as she bent down to grab her books. "Sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going." The boy said as he helped her. "It's okay. It was my fault."

Zoe stood up as she grabbed her book from him. "Thank you." She told the boy staring at him, his brown eyes and shaggy hair. "Do you have a name I can thank you by or should I call you mystery boy?"

"Scott. Scott McCall." He said as Zoe smiled, "Well, thank you Scott McCall for helping me with my books. It's always nice to meet a gentleman." Zoe said as both teens smiled at each other, a blush coming to their cheeks.
