UMUWING PAGOD SI Leon mula sa trabaho. He’s been sweating beads because of the stress and the heat. Fortunately, he’s finally at home and could lay in bed while enjoying his room’s aircon. Mabuti na lang at mabilis din ang meeting. Natapos kaagad na hindi siya ang piniling inhinyero na panandaliang papalit kay Jay sa trabaho. Though, he was almost chosen— but it seems like his performance has dropped low ever since the recent incident. Then again, that’s only because he was also recovering from getting poisoned.

Pumasok siya ng bahay na inaalis ang butones ng suot niyang long-sleeved polo shirt ‘tsaka ipinilig ang ulo para mag-inat. Natigilan lamang siya sa ginagawa nang makita si Keith na nakahiga sa mahabang upuan at mukhang nagbabasa ng magazine na napulot nito sa kung saan.

And he’s probably spacing out too much because of the heat or it has gotten inside his head, enough to make him forget the circumstances between him and Keith but his body moved to approach the man. Hindi nagtagal ay napansin siya ni Keith at itinabi nito nang kaunti ang hawak na magazine para makita siya, ngunit bago pa man ito makapag-react, ibinagsak ni Leon ang katawan sa ibabaw ng binata.

Then, Leon exhaled sharply— but at the same time, he felt more relieved and relaxed. Keith’s presence lifted him of his burdens and made him forget that he had to deal with Elisa’s parents earlier because it’s... inevitable. He was cornered.

“Leon?” After hearing Keith’s confused voice, there was a light tap on his back that followed.

Natigilan siya nang marinig ang boses ng binata at awtomatikong nanlaki ang mga mata niya nang mapagtanto kung anong ginawa. He’s laying on Keith’s chest and he could feel Keith’s heart beating erratically against his chest, like he’s nervous or something! Noong mag-sink in kay Leon ang lahat, mas mabilis pa sa alas kwatro niyang itinulak ang sarili mula rito para makabangon ‘tsaka namamanghang nakipagtitigan sa gulat ding si Keith.

“Are you... okay?” Keith asked. He looked worried but his cheeks were tainted in a bright pink. “May nangyari ba sa ‘yo sa trabaho?”

Hindi na napansin ni Leon ang nalukot na magazine. Mas naituon niya ang atensyon sa kamay nitong halos abutin siya. Ngunit bago pa man siya mahawakan ni Keith, mabilis siyang umilag at tumayo nang tuwid. Keith looked dumbfounded while he’s staring angrily at the man, both ashamed and wanting to bury himself six feet under the ground. Gago, anong sumapi sa kanya?! Akala ba niya, ayos na sila ni Keith?!

Para siyang kandilang naitulos nang bumangon din si Keith mula sa kinahihigaan. Napasinghap siya’t bago pa man ito makapagsalita, mabilis na tinalikuran ni Leon ang binata ‘tsaka siya nagmamadaling tumakbo patungo sa kwarto niya.

But of course, it’s not without shouting at Keith.

“Tang ina mo! Magkunwari kang walang nangyari dahil walang nangyari!” singhal niya sa binata bago siya nagmamadaling nagsara ng pinto at nag-lock.

Once he’s all alone inside his room, that’s when all of his strength escaped from him and he fell on his knees weakly. He still had his grip on his doorknob while his free hand covered the lower part of his face.

Leon could feel his cheeks burning from embarrassment, his heart was pounding fast inside his chest, and he has been cursing himself under his breathe.

“Anong sumapi sa ‘yo, Leon?!” napapantastikuhan niyang tanong ‘tsaka niya binatukan ang sarili. “I get it, you’re done. But have some decency, bro!”

Bwakanang shit, ngayon niya nakukumpirma sa sariling ang rupok pala talaga niya pagdating kay Keith. Ano rin ba kasing ginawa ng isang iyon sa kanya?!

He really thought that everything’s done for him and the first person he sought was Keith because basically, he sees him as his comfort person. He always felt at ease with him— and shit. This isn’t the right time to brace that fact. He has a lot of things to deal with. A lot of things to fix on himself before he could talk to that guy again.
