Chapter 18

"A date? Seriously?" Jungkook let out a scoff

"WHAT?"

"What?"

"You said something just now." Yoongi spoke

"Did I?" Jungkook pretended to be unaware of the obvious fact.

"Leave it. I just came to say I've prepared the breakfast, so if you are done talking to yourself, you can have it." Yoongi said, pulling the sheets off  Jungkook.

Jungkook just hummed and got up.

"There you are." You noted upon spotting Taehyung.

"Hello" Taehyung greeted.

He was dressed in a casual outfit with a hat and a mask on. Maybe to hide from the public's eye, you thought.

"Have a seat" he signalled you take a seat beside him on the desk, which you did.

"I was wondering...why a children's park?" You voiced out your thoughts, wondering why Taehyung had called you to meet in a children's park.

"Oh, I just thought I'll be least suspected to be here out of all places." He said, scratching his neck.

You laughed a little at his timidity. "I could've came to your farmhouse."

"Ah no, I didn't want to make you come that far just to meet me." He shook his head, taking off the mask to breathe some fresh hair. There was no need to worry as his hat was doing a great job at covering his face a little by forming a shadow.

Even though you had seen him a few times by now, it was still fascinating to you how he looked so good.

"Besides I wanted to come out of my house too." He spoke, drawing you out of your thoughts.

"I hope I didn't make you wait for too long." You gave an awkward smile.

"Not at all." He smiled

Then a comfortable silence settled between you two. Only the laughter of some kids were audible.

"What questions do you have for me?" You asked, breaking the silence.

"Nothing special really. I just wanted to know how's everything going." He said, clearly talking about his father's case

"We met Seokjin. We talked to him about his testimony." You revealed

"And?"

"He... said he saw Black Knight."

"That's what I told you." He sighed. "Do you not have any new information? Any progress?" He then asked

You hesitantly took a breath

"I... not really." You lied to protect Namjoon's secret, for now

But you felt really bad for hiding it from Taehyung. Among everyone, Taehyung was the one who deserved to know this the most and here you were keeping him in the dark.

"Nice try but I can tell that you are lying." He gave you a soft smile

Abort! Mission abort!

"W-What?" You uttered

"Let me remind you, Y/N, I'm an actor and I can tell when people are faking it." He said

"I-

You were left speechless at this point.

"Do you know why I agreed to let you know everything?" He then asked, turning to meet your gaze

"It's because you both were the first one who came to offer help. All those calls I received after the press conference were from the reporters who wanted to get something out of me for their headlines. No one really wanted to help me." He revealed
