What are they doing?

Start from the beginning

"Core, baby..." she croons as she completely blanks me, turning away. The response she gets from Corey is no better, his still typing despite the fact everyone else is now watching her as she walks toward him. "Cooorrreeeeeyyyyy!" she whines, as her hands land on his shoulders. He flinches, snaping the computer shut.

"Kayli?" he sounds confused like he isn't really here, "Kayli..." he trails off as she leans in, he leans back almost unnoticeably, his eyes flicking around, as if looking for a way out. I'm the only one that follows his eye line, hie eyes meet Gabe's, Gabe mimes coughing. Corey's brow crinkles briefly, then understanding lights his eyes and he lets out a weak cough. The same thing happens that happened with me. She instantly backs off, this time with a scowl. The second she's out of his face, Corey shoots to his feet, scoops up his laptop and races from the room. Gabe's barely an inch behind him. It's as though Kayli, i neraida mou, is a disease this time.

Axel wraps an arm around her waist and pulls her onto his lap. She tenses for a moment then turns and drops a kiss on his lips. Within moments he cradles her bridle style and, still kissing, he carries her from the room. Nobody else says a word. I want to turn and make a comment to... the guy who seems to have vanished from all our thoughts despite the fact that he wasn't at fault... North, yet everyone else thinks he was at fault. But I can't because he's not here. Because we didn't see him breaking at what happened to Luke.

Something I thought was very justified. The Luke 'incident', at the time anyway, but what it did to North, the drink and the...the drugs. How did I not see that? Why did I no try harder? Much harder! What was I thinking, letting him stay in that garage? Night and day... weeks on end!

Victor's gone back to watching whatever film happens to be on, his not going to be any help. But Corey... his upstairs somewhere. I end up tracking across most of the house, before I find him and Gabe... in the attic of all places.

My artistic brother has obviously spent time redesigning up here, every part is distinctly him, with touches of Corey thrown in, the computer on the desk for instance. In fact, if I look hard enough, I can see parts of a lot of us..

I see Gabriel flopped on a sofa, that is conspicuously bright purple, obviously a throwback to Sean, through the crack between the door and the wall. Which also allows me to observe the room, without being seen. While one wall is bright orange, Gabe favourite colour another is pale blue, in stark contrast, the third is my colour, dark navy blue. Some stunning detailing in pure black drips from the picture rail, a memory of North flashes though my brain.

"Giatí tha íthela na foréso éna apó aftá ta chrómata?" (Why would I want to wear one of those colours?) the Boy before me spits, his face set in a scowl. I try not to laugh as he holds up the yellow t-shirt, not that I can imagine him ever wearing it.

"Allá den boreíte na foráte mávro gia pánta!" (But you cannot wear black forever!) I'm trying not to laugh at the boy who's the same age as me.

"Koíta me pígaine!" (look at me go) he looks at me and smirks slightly, "Tha foréso móno mávro apó tóra kai sto exís!" (I will only wear black from now on!)...

"So, what did she say?" Gabe mutters at Corey from the sofa, just as I go to knock, she? The Blond rolls his eyes and clicks a few keys.

"Why don't you read it yourself, your part of the group chat you know!" Corey sounds half exasperated, half amused. He glances back briefly at Gabe, the half-closed door keeps me hidden, even with my bulk.

"Meh, that fucdgeing effort, you know man!" Corey smirks properly at this and turns back to the screen, still smiling.

"Make the effort!" my mouth twitches, I didn't realise the two of them where so close, close enough to laugh together and tease. Something I don't do with anyone anymore, not since North left... disappeared. Even thought of the banter I used to have with North makes me smile.

"Please...." Gabe mutter fluttering his eye lashes at the back of Corey's head. The man at the computer starts laughing.

"Luke says and I quote: Is the eye lash fluttering meant to be pretty?" Gabe scowls and sticks his middle finger up at the other side of the room. "His followed up with: So rude, and one of the laughing emoji's!" Luke? As in Luke, Luke? No way! "Sunshine's entered the chat and told you to: Be nice to Corey or you're not coming back!"

Gabe whips a phone out of his pocket and types something, then pauses and posses for a second, making a kissing face at the camera. He sends whatever that says and drops the phone beside him.

"No, she didn't you made that up!" the blond laughs as Gabe drags himself to his feet and wanders over to behind Corey. "I'm bored, whatya doin?"

"Stuff... Sunshine wanted to design a new garden space, for J so that there is enough space for that enormous greenhouse! Maybe do that. Apparently, she wants the plans so that N can get on with the build!"

"Fine, but only because Trouble wanted me to!" I don't knock on the door, instead I turn away, question swimming through my brain.

They are in contact with Luke?

Who's the girl?

Who's J?

How does North fit into this?

Is N North? In which case, why in hell is he building a greenhouse? And where?

Why does Gabe look slightly guilty? Like he knows something more than Corey...
