Outgoing trains

Among all those who live in town
Above the cars, below the plains
There is a different kind of road
Where platforms meet outgoing trains.

I saw a lot of hard goodbyes
With lots of hugs and salty tears.
Who knows how many days will pass?
It may be months, or may be years.

I saw long kisses through the door
With hearty laughs and cheerful smiles.
Although the hands shall tear away
Love travels farther than the miles.

Until days of a warm embrace
They're waiting for the coming train.
Holding the joy in pounding hearts.
They know- one day they'll meet again
