Chapter 22 An Uneasy Alliance

16 July 1987

Over the last seven days the Louds have been keeping a respectable distance from Lincoln and Christina and for now decided to try their luck with their kids

Lori, Luna and Luan approached Jackson and Diana as they were watching tv, looking to try their luck with them as they probably won't be as pissed off at them like their father and mother and to a lesser extent the oldest twins, the three women sit down with the two kids as Diana and Jackson get up immediately in disgust and attempt to walk away

Luna: Guys wait is that anyway to treat your aunts?
Diana: Aunts??, your not our aunts
Lori: But we are your father's sisters
Jackson: Stop right there, you all were his sisters but you all abused him in every way possible and yet you now have the nerve to call yourselves his sisters? You were all just imposters you were not a family to him
Luan: But we are not the same we have changed a lot since then you gotta believe us!
Jackson: Like dad said we'll believe it when we see it
Diana: Yeah you have a lot of work to do on yourselves for us to believe it end of story
Christina wonders in on the situation
Christina: What the hell are you three doing near my children, your only allowed to talk to them when me or Lincoln is present!
Lori: I'm sorry Christina, we didn't mean any harm, we just wanted to talk to them so we can get to talk to Lincoln
Christina: I'll organize a meeting between us and you girls in your bedroom so you can address your issues
Lori: No I have a better idea, how about we take you and Lincoln out for dinner this weekend and talk there?
Christina: Fine I'll try to rope him into it but he can be stubborn he wears the pants in the family
Luna: Gee, we didn't notice anyway thanks for accepting ( Christina and the two kids head upstairs)
Luna: so Lori where is Lynn?, I haven't seen her since breakfast
Lori: I'm stumped too Luna, the last time I saw her was when Lincoln went out with Clyde to train at the gym...
Luan: Wait a minute don't tell me she went after them
Lori: She could piss him off again, we know how prideful Lynn is, I gotta go put a stop to this
Luan: Do you know where the gym is?
Lori: Yes it's downtown I'll be back!

Lori runs to her car but she checked around and as expected Lynn's red Mitsubishi Starion wasn't there so she got into her blue 1986 BMW E-28 and took off in the direction of the gym

Meanwhile with Lincoln he was currently in a sparring session with a young Lennox Lewis and as he continued attacking someone called his name which distracted him and he got knocked down by the hard hitting Lewis
Lincoln got up and turned around and saw the last person he wanted to see in Lynn Loud Jr
Lincoln: Take 5 everyone, everyone in the gym went to take a break as Lincoln got out of the ring and went to see what brought the sore loser here and it better be a good reason or else she'll have a black eye and missing teeth on the way back home and that's him being gentle to her but on the way Eddie Futch asked him not to get violent in this situation and since he respects his long time he will use his words but if she hits him or insults to brutally all bets are off
Lincoln: Lynn are you lost or something what are you doing here?
Lynn Jr: I know exactly where I am I even brought Lucy
Lincoln: Where is Lucy?
( He then realized where she was)
Lincoln: Lucy stand where I can see you, don't you dare try to pull that appearing out of nowhere trick unless you want a free trip to the moon courtesy of the showstopper ( He clenched his right hand and got it cocked and ready)
Lucy immediately showed herself and stood infront of Lynn but a couple of feet away from Lincoln  as she wanted no part of that right hand or any of Lincoln's punches for that matter
Lucy: I'm sorry Lincoln, Lynn put me up to this!
Lincoln: Ok what are yoy doing here then Lynn?
Lynn Jr: Look man I just came to see you train, sparring in particular and after that knockdown I can see you definitely need my help
Lincoln immediately broke out laughing before catching his breath
Lincoln: I need your help?, Lynn first of all You distracted me that's why I was dropped none of my sparring partners ever dropped me before
Lennox Lewis: I dropped him last year this isn't the first time
Bert Cooper: I knocked him down in 1985
Lincoln: Mind your own business all  of you who asked you!

All the sparring partners shut up and got back to their break as they giggled to themselves, Lynn Jr and Lucy  couldn't help but to laugh too
Lincoln: Quit it both of you before I throw you both out!
Lucy: Sorry, big brother
Lincoln: Lynn explain what you think can offer me?
Lynn Jr: Well it's simple I want you to hire me as a sparring partner/assitant trainer, I can expose your flaws and mistakes as well as help you fix them so you can beat Martin as I know many boxers habits past and present including his and yours as right now if your own sparring partners are handing your ass to you in sparring matches what do you think will happen against Bruno Martin in that ring in a real fight
Lincoln tried to counter
Lincoln: Lynn sparring and real fights are very different I'm just giving these guys a good shot at me as well as learn what I can and can't do in the ring don't you forget I was once a sparring partner to 3 great former World Heavyweight Champions in Joe Frazier, Ken Norton and most notably Muhammad Ali back in the 1970s and I knocked all 3 men down in sparring matches at different times Ken Norton was the one I dropped the most with seven knockdowns in 1973 and 1975 , I knocked down Joe Frazier three times when he was champ in 1972 and I once knocked down Muhammad Ali in 1975 a year after he dropped me in 1974 when he was world champion

Lynn Jr: That was then this is now so do you take my offer?
Lincoln: Well I don't know paying so much for all that?
Lynn Jr: How about I work $50 dollars an hour and You get to beat me up for all I done to you?
Lincoln: Fine your hired I better not regret this
Lori appears
Lori: Lynn Don't bother Lincoln
Lincoln: She's my sparring partner now Lori
Lori: Oh alright while I'm here I might as well watch you train ( She sits on the bench)
Lucy: Me too

Lincoln: Alright guys break is over let's get back to work and Lennox your not done after I'm done with the speed bag and heavy bag I want you one more round

The Loud sisters watched as Lincoln hits the speed bag and then later the heavy bag and they were impressed before later seeing back in the ring with Lennox Lewis and after a good competitive 2 minutes in the final minute of the round Lincoln dropped Lewis after the workout Lincoln approached his ex sisters
Lincoln:What do you think of that?
Lynn Jr: I give it a C+
Lucy: B+
Lori: A+
Lynn Jr: This is a good start but we gotta a lot of ground to cover if we are gonna get you ready

Lori: Oh and Lincoln, the girls and I will be taking you and your wife for dinner this weekend so we can talk are you game?
Lincoln: Fine I could eat let's do it
Lori: It's our treat

AN: Done this chapter ended well the sisters failed to build a better bond with Lincoln's kids but Lynn is now a member of Lincoln's team how do you think it will go?
