Chapter 7 A Long Awaited Dream Becomes A Nightmare

30 March 1987

Lincoln and his two boys were at the park playing football together, Brandon was 12 turning 13 in May and Jackson he was 8 turning 9 in October Lincoln himself was not far away from the age of 31, He did tell them how good of a football player he once was a long time ago and now he was playing well with them both beating them in games and letting them win in games for over 3 hours as they were playing Brandon tackled his dad from behind which knocked both of them down before screaming
Brandon: Dog pile on Dad!
Jackson: Immediately joined in and jumped on his father as the three laughed and enjoyed themselves

Lincoln did have to report for Principal Photography for The Untouchables in a few days which means travelling to Chicago because the movie will be shot there and now this  movie as well as the fourth superman film will be under pressure as The WBA and The WBC informed them that they don't want Lincoln to get hurt in either production before his title fight with Bruno Martin and that they both do all they can to finish filming all the scenes he's involved in and release him so he can start preparation for the fight which was to be held somewhere in September ( still to choose a proper date) The two boxing organizations didn't have to worry about the Bond movie as he was done filming The Living Daylights and was now just promoting it

A bit later the kids were feeding the ducks when Lincoln caught up to them

Lincoln: So what do you guys wanna do for the rest of the day?
Jackson: The Arcade!!
Brandon: Nah I wanna go to the gym with daddy!
Lincoln: Sorry son, I'm not going to the gym today and for the rest of the week, I'm just taking a break
Brandon: Ok but daddy can you teach me and Jackson how to fight?
Lincoln: What?
Brandon: We want to know how to fight
Jackson: I never said that I don't want to know how to fight
Brandon: Well please teach me then daddy!
Lincoln: No son I can't do that
Brandon: Why???
Lincoln: Because fighting is dangerous
Brandon: Then why do you do it?
Jackson: Yeah dad why???
Lincoln: Look the reason is simple I fight so you guys and your sisters and little brother don't have to fight because I had a horrible childhood and I didn't get to do much education down in South Africa and I needed the money that's why I'm in the fight game now you guys are living a great life and you guys I want you to do well in school so that you can use your head for something other than a punching bag like me and that you can pursue a safer career path than boxing if you guys wanna be actors and other jobs I'm all ears but not boxing anything but boxing
Brandon: But why dad?
Lincoln: Look let me tell you two a secret, every parent's mission in life is to raise their children into adulthood and watch them grow up until they are ready to move out of the house as well as make sure they can take care of themselves, now both of you of you know that but the secret is every parent wants their kids to do better than they did, get a better job than your parents did and continue their legacy as boys me and your mother will be gone from this world one day, but we want you guys and your brother to be able to take care of yourselves and each other ok?
Brandon and Jackson nod
Lincoln: Good so let's go to a restaurant and grab some pizza, steak and fries and maybe ice cream and then later go to the arcade
( Both boys were beeming)
Lincoln: How does that sound?
Brandon and Jackson: Yes dad your the best dad in the world!!!! ( They say before running to the car)
(Lincoln looks at us for a moment)
Lincoln: And that guys was an example of how to be a great father to your kids unlike a certain idiot with his namesake daughter, Lynn Sr eat your heart out

He goes to the car and starts it before driving to the first of their destinations for some lunch

Meanwhile with Lola she was done  shooting Adventures In Babysitting and that meant she can take a break  as her two other movies will be begin production later which gave her time to rest but also audition for a role in The upcoming romantic fantasy adventure film The Princess Bride for the role of Princess Buttercup, she always dreamt of playing a princess and now might be her chance
