"'If you find yourself enjoying him, but also feeling frustrated about his actions at times, it means I'm doing my job.' You have mentioned this at the beginning of the book, and I couldn't agree with you more. Evie could sense some kind of connection between her and Mateo. This also applies to Mateo, who found himself a bit on edge, but Evie's presence relaxed him.

It sometimes can be hard to speak through your characters and make them come alive with their own voices, but you have managed to do that with Mateo. I could sense the character arc that would happen to him throughout the story. Besides that, I also loved how you addressed his flaws.
