All your worries lessen however when you catch a glimpse of your best friend Mikasa. She was standing underneath a tree beside her step-brother Eren. She was in a thin long sleeve black shirt with a deep neckline, a knee length plaid skirt, tights, and black boots. Her short black hair was in pigtails, and her bangs obstructed her eyes. Getting closer you could see the charms and chains around her neck, and the dark Smokey makeup she was wearing. God she was cute.

Okay so maybe you liked her a teensie bit more than a friend.

But you would never tell her that.

You two were best friends, and you didn't want to ruin that. She knew you liked girls, but so far, you weren't sure if she did as well.

Either way, she was in your life so closely right now, and you could live with that. Tucking away your iPod you run over to her and Eren.

"Mikasa!" You exclaim and give her a big side hug, draping your arm over her shoulders.

You felt her arm snake around your waist underneath your backpack and return your embrace. You fought back a shudder. Eventually you removed your arm from her shoulders and turned to face her fully.

"Ready for another year of hell?" You ask her.

She giggles a little bit before replying; "from what I've read, hell is much nicer place than this."

Mikasa was really into the occult, so it wasn't at all weird to hear her talk about hell and demons and gods and such. She was passionate about it, and you loved that about her.

Engaging in light conversation with Mikasa and Eren, you hear the bell ring. The three of you head inside with the rest of the lagging students and you line up by the office to get your schedules, and head off. Walking with Mikasa you compare your classes, praying that you had at least a few courses with her.

"We have two classes together!" You exclaim happily. You were in an exceptionally good mood since seeing Mikasa and yours's schedules.

You see her smiling while looking at your two sheets. Your first period classroom is just a few doors down, but before you two parted ways, Mikasa spoke.

"I think this is going to be an okay year for us" she beams, looking at you. You two stared at each other in silence for a few seconds, then the warning bell rang.

Snapping out of your reverie, you look away quickly.

"I'll see you in bio y/n" Mikasa says quietly before turning away and heading to her first class. Before she was out of your sight however you thought you could see a light blush on her cheeks.

What's with that? You think to yourself before stepping into the English classroom.

The final bell rang, dismissing the horde of teenagers from their lessons and requirements as students. The day was pretty uneventful, nothing being taught in your lessons; just introductions and planning for the semester.

You didn't have any friends in your English class and that bummed you out, as well as made you nervous. You did have Historia Reiss in that class, but she was the queen of the school. A cheerleader and a prep, and someone who did not associate with you. You felt lucky because you had Mikasa in bio, but unfortunately you had the schools king, Reiner Braun. You two made an effort to stay well away from him as well, to avoid any sort of conflict or bullying from him and his goonies. You had both Mikasa and Eren in History, and your other good friend Armin Arlert in math. Bless. You were horrid at math, but Armin was really smart so you made sure to sit with him.

Leaving the building you tried to catch up with Mikasa, but Armin told you that she and Eren got picked up by their mom. You tried to hide your disappointment as you left the school's property and headed home.

You were debating listening to music again when you felt a hand in your shoulder. Whipping around you saw your old friend Annie Leonhart standing behind you. The two of you had been good friends while you were children, but she was a year older than you and you two eventually grew apart. You were still friends however, and you were happy to see her.

"Hey Annie. How was your first last day?" You ask, trying to make a joke about her being a senior. She did not look impressed however when she started to walk beside you , the both of you heading in the same direction.

"Haha very funny y/n" she says in her low, monotone voice. " I thought I'd walk with you for a bit"

You enjoyed Annie's company even though you two weren't that close anymore. You two kept small and easy conversation before eventually parting ways a few blocks from your house.

Waving her goodbye, you quickly head back to your own home and walk through the door.

Your (guardian/s) was still gone (to work you assumed) so you grabbed a snack and headed to your room.

After a few hours of basic work and dinner when your (guardian/s) came home, you were almost ready to turn in for the night.

Opening your laptop you log into MySpace to send Mikasa a message before grabbing your book and going to bed.
