chapter 29: Blaine (again)

Chapter 29: Blaine (again)

"Mummy? Oh my.....mum!!!" Emily shrieked and ran over to her, embracing her tightly.

"Emily?! Ohmygod.... What are you guys doing here?!" my mum said as she hugged Em with seemingly all her might.

"Uhhh, Ruby? What the hell is going on?" Damien pipped up, looking rather confused.

"Oh! Charles, Damien, Jack, these are my children, Blaine and Emily." Mum said, not letting go of Em.

"As in your biological children?" Charles asked.

"Yes. Oh how I have missed you!" she moved over and gave me a hug as well.

"Mum, why didn't you tell me you were seeing someone?" I asked, I couldn't understand why she didn't tell me when we talked.

"I didn't want to tell you before I knew it would work. I was going to tell you tomorrow when we talked."

"Wait. Blaine?" Em said quietly.

"Yes?"

"You've been talking to Mummy? When!?"

Shit.....

After a lot more conversation, we finally ate. Kurt, as always, was by my side. Mum was on my other. There was some small talk and after dinner was over Kurt and I went to the living room while Mum and Charles cleaned. Am and Jack went to play for a little and let the grown ups talk.

I was snuggled in Kurt's arms, it was nice and relaxing after the shock of my mum.

"I can't believe she's here..." I whispered.

"I know. It must have been so surprising to have her walk through that door." he said as he placed a kiss on my sorta gelled hair.

"Beyond surprising. Why would she have waited to tell me?"

"Maybe she didn't want to get your hopes up? She knows you're living with us right?"

"Yeah. Well, she doesn't know we share a bed, but she knows I'm staying with you. As a friend.."

"She doesn't know we're dating?!" Kurt asked, shocked. Now I felt like a hypocrite!

"well.......not in so many words. I didn't bluntly tell her, but I think she put the pieces together..."

Kurt thought for a moment,

"Think of it like this, you're living with your boyfriend, or friend, as she knows. She cant take you in for whatever reason, right? Well, maybe if things work out with Charles she can get you back. Maybe she didn't want to tell you so you didn't get your hopes up about leaving, so if things didn't work out and you can't leave yet then no harm done to you because you never knew."

I nodded, that made sense actually,

"Yeah, I guess that's true. But what happens now?"

Kurt sighed and his sweet breath ghosted over my face, "I have no idea, Blaine. I just know that your mum has a boyfriend and that boyfriend happens to be Damien's dad. I also know that if their relationship works out, you may never have to worry about being returned to your dad."

I just nodded because all of this was giving me a headache.

My mum and Charles entered the living room, sitting on the couch opposite of me and Kurt. My mum smiled at the sight of us. If she didn't know, she does now.

"I'm so happy you took my advise, Kurt."

"As am I, Blaine is a remarkable person." he said, smiling fondly at me.

Charles spoke up next,

"So let me get this straight......"

"Blaine, you're more than welcome to stay." Charles insisted and my mum nodded in agreement. Things looked good for them.

"Thank you, but I'm going to go home tonight. Maybe tomorrow, if that's okay." I said as I linked my fingers  with Kurt's.

"Of course! You're welcome at any time Blaine." Charles said as he shook my other hand. I'd already said my goodbyes so we were ready to leave. We would take Kurt's Navigator home and get my car tomorrow.

"Okay, bye guys!" I called.

"Bye, Blaine!" Em and Jack called back.

"Goodbye Kurt. Call me later?" Ruby asked. She and Kurt are going to be such great friends.

"I will, Miss Ruby. Good night."

When we were a little ways out, Kurt broke the silence.

"Why didn't you want to stay? You haven't seen her in forever yet you're coming back to my house."

"I will see her tomorrow. I guess I just needed to process all of this. Plus, Em has been cut off from her way longer than I have." I explained.

"Well, I can't say I'm not happy you decided to come home with me tonight. We have the house to ourselves because both my dad and Carole are working." he said, a suggestive edge in his voice.

"Oh really? How lucky, I won't be here tomorrow so I guess I'll have to make up for the lost cuddles tonight." I said and Kurt giggled.

"It'll be weird without you by my side when I wake up." he admitted quietly.

"Well, graduation is coming up, then we will be in New York. I will always be by your side."

"You still want to go to New York with me?"

"Of course! Why wouldn't I?" I asked, confusion clear in my voice.

"I don't know. I guess I just thought that with your mum being back that you'd want to stay near her."

"I will still visit her. I love her to death, but I won't throw away our future like that. I don't want to and I know you don't either."

"No, I don't," he agreed, "but I don't want you to miss out either."

"I won't." I said, leaning over to peck him on the cheek.

"Okay. I love you, Blaine."

"I love you, too, Kurt."

So sorry for the length and hiatus on this one! The end is coming! But first, we have to get through graduation and something else I have in store for you!
